Gisele Bundchen brought her stepson John Moynahan to a park in LA yesterday for an afternoon on the playground. Gisele seems happier than ever publicly playing with John who is already a looker just like his dad. Gisele doesn't usually talk about her personal life, but she made an exception as the covergirl of April's Harper's Bazaar where her happiness and maternal instincts couldn't help but shine through. Here are highlights:
- On Tom: "Tom is a good guy. He has a very pure heart. He's very naive, almost like a child. That is my favorite quality about him. One thing that I thought was so amazing when I first met him is that he is innocent. He sees the world with colored glasses. . .It's beautiful, but I think that is rare. I love that about him. No one else sees that. He's very strong and focused in his job, but he's so sensitive, it's amazing."
- On having a family: "I want to have a big family. My parents have been together for 36 years, and that is what I want. I am in that place. It's all good in that part of my life. It's one part of my life that I'm learning about every day. I've been challenged a lot by it, but it's the most rewarding part. . . I love kids," she says, smiling, her eyes lighting up. "It's amazing that I have the opportunity to hang out with my stepson all the time. He is so kind. He loves blueberries, and every now and then my dog, Vida, tries to get some food from him. He is so nice that he will give her the blueberries first. He is so cute and has such a sweet demeanor.""
- On her past: "I was drinking a lot of red wine, smoking a pack and a half of cigarettes a day, and eating cheeseburgers all day. I was treating my body, which is my temple and my best friend, as my worst enemy. I was almost punishing myself. I was so tired. I was working so much, and I was numb. . . If you are happy, you can give happiness. If you don't love yourself and if you are unhappy with yourself, you can't give anything else but that."
Lucky Gisele on that last quote. Otherwise, she seems sweet and happy — after all the criticism and rumors at this point it's hard not to see the newlyweds through Tom's rose-colored glasses. To see more photos of Gisele and John just read more.

4I dunno, ilanac, I read it as she was saying that he sees the best in everyone. Were you referring to her calling him "innocent" and that he "sees the world through rose colored glasses" or did I misunderstand what you were referring to?

I'm not a fan of Gisele's...but she seems to be taking this step-mom role pretty seriously and that's great. I'm not sure where I read it but people were super-critical of her...saying she's only holding John/Jack to make Bridget jealous, etc... but I dunno...she seems genuinely into him here and that's the sort of care that's good to see...

10It's great that she loves her step son so much. If I were a single mother it would be a relief if my ex new gf loved my kid that much, and had that great relationship.
11I am a single mother and my kids don't really like their stepmother too much but they're taught to respect her. She does the best she can from what I can tell so we have no problems. It's usually about the guy when there's tension. Amazingly we all get along pretty well; we keep the appropriate distance and it works for us.

17i think it's great that she is so into her stepson... if i were bridget i'd be annoyed to see all of these paparrazi pics of her holding my son though lol... but im sure bridget would rather have that annoyance than have a mean stepmommy!

21Gisele is growing on me, but I can understand if/why Bridget is mad/upset...Tom left her while she was pregnant and now married a supermodel. Talk about a slam.
22If I had a kid with an ex. I'd hoped his partner would be nice to my kid and takes good care of him/her. You don't want your child left with someone who does not care. She seems to really love the kid. I think he's going to be spoiled on both sides and he's going to have a great life. When he becomes a teenager, the girls are going to be all over him. You wait and see.
23While you'd hope that your ex's new wife would be good to your kid, I have to wonder where's Tom? If Tom & Bridget have a shared custody arrangement, Bridget might prefer to have her son back at home if Tom can't find the time, rather than having Gisele use him for a paparazzi prop.
24I think it's nice that Gisele seems to have a good relationship with John, it's probably easier when he is just a baby and he isn't aware of any of the "drama."
