Zac Efron left his squeaky clean image behind to get down and dirty for the April cover of Interview Magazine. After rolling around in the mud with a very NSFW scantily clad lady (OMG wonder what Vanessa thought of this photo shoot?), Zac chatted with director Gus Van Sant about the sexy photos and his upcoming projects. Here's more:
- On the photo shoot: "I think it went pretty cool. There was, like, a giant sandbox in the middle of a studio, and then I just got to roll around in the dirt for a couple of hours. I got pretty dirty by the end of it, so that was fun. It was definitely different from anything I had ever done before. The photographer was really fun to work with."
- On what attracted him to 17 Again: "At the time, it was the most unique opportunity that presented itself. There were several roles that I could have done where I would have played essentially another high school student, or they were romances or stories in a high school setting, and there were lots of things that people wanted to turn into musicals. But the whole idea of playing a 37-year-old guy as a 17-year-old was just the most exciting prospect for me. I was really intrigued by the idea. I’ve always been kind of an old man, so to speak."
Zac looks and sounds ready to move on from his High School Musical days, and we're happy to see this teen star moving into manjoyment mode.

i don't know if i'm going to be able to watch 17 again. i like the original movie and i feel like this is just a bad remake of a classic (sorta) ....oh well. at least zac's seeing success in his young life - hopefully it'll continue

5I don't get the theme for this shoot, a dirty pretty boy, and a naked not "scantily clad" female. Hmmm, whatever, it's still artistic photography IMHO. Unless Vanessa is a total jealousy freak, I don't think she cares, because it's pretty much acting, it's not real. Just because An actor poses for professional photographs doesn't mean he is cavorting all over the place with someone that was just there to do her job as a model. Pop, you know better, don't be like Perez Hilton or TMZ...those sites are baaaaad.

18Interview does a lot of that though, people shouldn't be so harsh. I subscribe to Interview magazine, I've been getting it all this year, and just got this issue yesterday. I am so annoyed with their naked pics, they did a fashion spread were they dressed models in new belts, vests, pants and dresses but showed their nips and or just made it seemed like they were wrapped in a towel. They are/try so hard to be artsy, it's annoying. Otherwise, I think Zac did well.
