Last night the New York Public Library held court for some of my personal Hollywood favorites dressed to the nines for the 2007 CFDA Fashion Awards. Lucky Summer Lady Ellen Barkin hosted the event -- check out all the winners here....but onto the fashion. Over the weekend, the lovely little Olsens held a party for the nominees, so of course they were out to celebrate the winners, too. Call me crazy, but I sort of totally loved both their looks. Debra Messing, glowing from the success of Starter Wife, was gorgeous in purple, while Eva totally stepped it up from her semi-grandma patterned MTV dress. Also, when Oprah steps out to look good, she definitely looks good. As for Bosworth? I'm pretty meh on the whole look. But what's really important, what did you think of all the red carpet looks? Loves? Hates? MK/Ashley-pinions I should hear about?

I have a whole new esteem for the Olsen Twins, for wearing evening wear with sleeves! Yay for sleeves!! Not all of us want to wear the backless, strapless, sleeveless stuff that dominates the racks for formal dresses. Even Oprah's dress is an improvement over much of what's avaialable, although it's kind of mother of the bride looking.
11Heidi Klum is looking good, after her show "Germanys next topmodel".
12Why does Oprah always wear that type of collar - makes me feel like I've seen her in this same dress a billion times. I love Claire Dane's frock.
13I really like that gold thing (cuff?) MK is wearing on her arm.
14Why does Oprah keep wearing that boring style of dress to almost every event. Its so yawn! And I gotta agree the Olsen twins look great.
15Ashlee looks awesome here..well the one with black dress...i guess i never made it important to be able to tell the difference, haha! she looks wow!I like Alicia Keys, Eva and Oprah dresses...i think that other lady is Vanessa Williams, she doesnt look bad in her dress either and the shiny fabric looks cool on her, the other lady with the blonde cropped bob cut hair and tigghhttt
black dress looks really good too, i love that hairstyle on her! 
16The Olsens look fabulous (especially in contrast to their usual bag-lady looks) but is that HUGGGGGGGGEEEE purse MK's carrying really necessary?

20Wow! Some beautiful dresses!! Kate's look seems a little too business attire-y, but she's actually looking kind of healthy! So, yay!

25I love Debra Messing, and I love her dress, but... her hair looks like she had it in a headband all day and took it out right before she got out of the car. The front is a mess!
26The Olsen twins look great! I'm soo happy to finally have something nice to say about them. Kate Bosworth needs an immediate intervention with the Fashion Police. She looks horrible!

Oprah does seem to wear the same dress over and again. Love Oprahs hair, hate her makeup. Alicia looks great, prob the best Ive seen. She has wide hips and tends to choose outfits that just maximize them. Wow the Olsens look great esp Ashley ( I think ) in the black. Eva seems to show up at every single event, She has a great stylist, I wonder who it is.

36Ellen Barkin looks much better here, then she did at Cannes or where ever it was when she had that strapless red dress on. And I was just thinking the Olsens should wear their hair either up or pulled back and look, one of them did. lol
Oprah and Barbra Streisand both wear the same type of gowns all the time,Barbra even wore it as a wedding dress, although she does wear it more off-the-shoulder than Oprah.
37Debra Messing looks really bad in that picture where they are doing the Charlie's Angels thing....Compared to the other two ladies....she just doesn't cut it. In the pictures by herself, she looks fabulous but with two other beauties....hmmm. Not doing it for me.
