Ryan Gosling, Jessica Alba and Rachel Zoe all made it out to the LA premiere of Sugar last night. The baseball movie has already struck a chord with viewers and critics alike at Sundance and in earning an Independent Spirit Award nomination in 2009. It's been a long road for the film and apparently along the way it's gained some fans in Hollywood who were eager to see the sweet — pun intended — story. From here, Ryan is headed to even hotter climates. His band, Dead Man's Bones is still supposedly performing at SXSW this week.

it's interesting to see rachel at an event like this - but i guess she wants to be involved in the scene just as much as anyone. i had totally forgotten about this movie - so i just hope that it does ok

6Was Kate Bosworth at the premiere? She wasn't in SUGAR. Don't know why Jessica showed up but it's nice she brought the movie some attention. Ryan Gosling owes writer-directors Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck big time for his Best Actor Oscar nom from their movie HALF NELSON, and vice versa. They have a knack for taking well-worn genres like inspirational teacher or sports movies, and taking them, the characaters and audiences in unexpected directions.
