A. she was a very limited actress
B. she had no singing range beyond a whisper
C. there's no success to begrudge considering she died high, naked, depressed and forlorn for another woman's husband.
D. She was as 'famous' then as Britney, Anna Nicole, Lindsay, and Paris is now. They'll still talk about them and some will idolize them but doesn't mean they are worthy of the praise.
E. She was known for many things, intelligence was not one of them.

There's nothing wrong with discussing a woman's looks but to obsess on it daily is downright ridiculous.

I'm not a huge MM fan, but studying classic Hollywood I do know that she is actually known for her intelligence. She frequently studied Abraham Lincoln and had a massive library, and hated television at a time where TV was a major booming thing (like a social networking site.) I found her mediocre at one time, but after studying her, I find her worthy of her merchandising fame (like Elvis, they will live forever through their face being a doll, poster, magnet, tshirt, cartoon, etc.) Plus, the fact that many people know her and are not familiar with classic Hollywood or her work know who she is because she is just Iconic.

Either way, everyone knows that success in Hollywood generally goes hand-in-hand with your appearance... unfortunately.

Pensa- first of all, why would you assume all the posters here were women? Or straight? I don't recall any ban on lesbians posting on the sugar sites. Furthermore, why in the world can't straight women find another woman sexy? I think most peoples' views of sexuality are a little more fluid, even men now are starting to get more laid back and not afraid of people thinking they are gay if they say another guy looks good. I think most people are more reluctant to sound homophobic and ignorant rather than worry that someone will make assumptions about their sexuality, like "omg she thinks another woman is sexy she must be gay!!"
