The cameras got up close and personal with David Beckham at an England national team press conference yesterday in St. Albans, UK. Not that we mind, of course, the closer the better when it comes to this handsome specimen. It's shaping up to be quite the Manjoyment Friday around here. Holla. If David plays with the team this Saturday, it will be his 109th cap, which would be a new record, but he doesn't expect it to be for long. He said, "It is special. It’s great to be up there with the best and biggest icons. But I hope the player that breaks it is one of these players from within this squad." Gracious as always, of course, but one record of Becks' that probably won't be broken anytime soon is hottest soccer player.

1i totally agree on the hot part! as for being one of the 'most played' players or whatever - i think that it's a no brainer that it's going to happen - and i guess that's something to really be proud of. he's had a LONG career.

4hmm, I think the record might last for a while. Most of his peers are quite behind him in caps and the talented youngsters like Rooney do get injured a lot. I don't see anyone in the present group beating the record anytime soon.
