SJP was helping kick off fashion week by promoting her perfume, Lovely at Lord & Taylor. However, the famous fashionista won't be hitting any shows during fashion week. She is too busy with her men to be able to go. She said,

"I don't have time. My son starts school this week and I have to take him every day," Parker told Reuters in an interview, talking about her 3-year-old son James with actor husband Matthew Broderick.
Broderick, 44, broke his collarbone recently in a riding accident while on vacation in Ireland.
"He's OK but he is (without) one arm. It's hard to get my son dressed and out of the door ... so I have a great excuse not to attend any fashion shows."
I wonder what Carrie Bradshaw would think of that. Lots more pics of SJP promoting Lovely so read more

so pretty (the dress)
1what kind of freaking "school" is there for three year olds? sounds like just another celebrity mom pawning off her kids so she can go do something important.. like wh*re herself out for the money..
2Ahh all hail the Queen of New York
3I've never really gotten into SJP. I like her on Sex and the City, but that's about it. She's not pretty at all to me!
4I love her, Love the skirt LOVE the shows not to fond about the grey beater though. I would have gone with a better texture shirt.
5dupababy, its called preschool. My son is 3 and he goes to it, and I assure you I'm no celeb wh*re.
Love that outfit!!
6I really like the shoes.
7I don't care what people say about her looks she is radiant, beaming, gleaming, glittering, glorious, glowing, incandescent, luminous, lustrous, radiating, shining, sparkling....can you tell I love her????
8love the dress, hate the shoes with that dress
9I don't like her. Her outfit is very nice...I love soft grey tones.
10My son went to preK when he was 3! He loved it.
11JK.....like sjp much? lol
Jen76, I always wonder with celebs if it's actually preschool though. I always think that they have these special schools were their kids can go so they're free to explore celebrityville...like an all day "preschool". If so, I'd like to be a celebrity wh*re...LOL!
12I think Jessica looks lovely here. Love the outfit and I've always liked the fact that she's not typical Hollywood gorgessity. I really don't like her husband though, but that's a whole other story.
although I love her...me no likey the perfume
13my opinion...just a tad
14i love sjp. and i love the outfit. and i don't have a problem with 3 year-olds in school. however, her comment about how dropping her kid off at school everyday keeps her so busy she can't attend fashion week does make me wonder how the average joe and jane manage to raise kids while working full-time jobs?
15She is a working mom so putting her kid in pre-school at 3 years old should be ok non?
16I am too busy staring at her "tan" legs. Wierd.
17Even non working mom can put there three year olds in preschool. At that age it's mostly about learning social skills than actual learning. While they do teach the main point is to get kids adjusted to being away from mommy, meeting a diverse group of kids, and learning to interact. I think it's pretty healthy for a child to go to preschool most times it's only for a few hours a day
Sorry SJP lovers love the dress but she is fug. She looks like an eagle she coulda got a better nose job but she didn't have that much money back then so I guess she got the clearance sale nose job
18I think she has prettier moments...
19my daughter was in preschool at 3....she loved it
I'm an at home mom, but both of my sons started preschool at 3. My youngest is in it now and goes 3 hours a day, 3 days a week. It's great for him - he gets socialization, and he's learning to learn in a school environment (not to mention time away from me since he's glued to my hip otherwise). Those are things I can't give him enough of at home.
I love that dress!
20jaxon - i'd argue that her nose adds character to her face. i agree that she is not a classic beauty but watching satc i am always amazed how much presence she has. michael patrick king said once that "the camera just loves her" and i agree - you don't need to have the perfect looks to be a perfect actress (example nicole kidman who i am sure got the deluxe nose job and now can't move her botoxed face enough to convincingly portray any kind of emotion on screen).
21Thanks Jaxon....I would.
22*check my new blog It's 90's week!!!

23Margaretha I agree...her nose does give her character. I saw an interview with Jennifer Grey from Dirty Dancing and she said that she had a nose job after DD and she regretted it because people no longer recognised her and she believes that this is the reason she has not had much work since.
24JK, I'd forgotten all about Jennifer Grey, but amazingly enough her nose job changed her whole look completely. She's right, she was completely unrecognizable. Usually celebs just look like they've had work done. Case in point, Ashlee Simpson. But, to make your whole appearance unrecognizable?!! Yikes.
25i don't think she is that pretty, in the second pic, though, she looks good....her son is 3, he's not officially starting "school" how stupid
26I love SJP she is great.
27Ingrid89...I asked this before but did not get an answer so I will ask again....is there anyone in hollywood that you hate?
28she's not pretty but has something about her that's just nice. I like SJP.
29I agree 100% with you Shiloh. And nice pair of sandals!
30I was in Lord and Taylor during my lunch break on Friday when she was there. I decided to take a look after shopping and I got pretty close to where she was. I must say that she is MUCH better looking in person. Pictures don't do her that much justice.
31Hey dupa its called preschool.
32not pretty shiloh? i think she is gorgeous! anyway JK i dont like all the hollywood people but there are a lot of the people in hollywood i really love, becuz they are just so great!
33lol boogie OMG! That reminds me Big Brother All Stars ends tomorrow!!!!
34hmm I don't know it's not just her nose though. She got that prominent chin thing going on. People give Jennifer Aniston crap cause of her chin but SJP's is just as big. I guess I don't go gaga over her cause (dare i say it) I never really watched SATC.
35i think she looks good here!
36I can't stand her! Don't know y, I just don't like her! She does dress nicely thought.
37I think it's great that somebody is putting their child before fashion week. It might take her all day because she is involved in her child's life or she might just want to be there when he returns. I think it's nice that her family comes first now.
She looks great, always radiant.
38Preschool - aka nursery school - has been around for quite some time now. Definitely since the 1950s. And most kids, nowadays, do start at 3 and go two years until they're 5 and ready for kindergarten. I would bet that most posters here went to some form of preschool or nursery school.
39I like this dress, I love grey. She's icky though.
40she's pretty(designer clothes, makeup, hair, etc) but not necessarily typical beauty...
41Adriana-
42Definitely not 'typical' or flawless, but she has such style and presence-it's very attractive. Girl knows how to rock those looks!
Preschool at 3 is extremely common in larger cities. Yeah, he could also just be going 1/2 day so by the time you drop your kid off, run one errand, you are right back there to pick him up. I know from experience it takes a lot and I am impressed that she admits it and takes it seriously. She isn't having a nanny pick up her son, but gives him the continuity and security of being there for him. Not that she doesn't have a nanny ( I would with her money), but she always looks so sweet and into hr little man. I just have to gush when I see photos of them.
I take my little man 3 days a week. He hates it at first but not 2 seconds after I leave the room hes already stopped crying and playing. I think its great for him me being a working mom to go somewhere that there are other children to interact with, I could have free care with his grandparents but I choose this for more development. I cant imagine just putting a child in kindergarten and having them adapt with no former introduction.
43cute outfit!
44i love the outfit and shoes but i dont think shes pretty.
45Aw, I love her, even if she's not a classic beauty. Lord knows she has more real class than certain people (who shall remain nameless because I'd like to avoid a brawl
) who are much more celebrated than she. And I'm sure it doesn't take her all day to take
her son to school, but she did say, "I have a great excuse not to attend any fashion shows," which would seem to indicate that she doesn't actually want to go to any fasion shows.
Incidentally, I loved Sex and the City, but unlike most other viewers, I hated Carrie, but LOVE SJP. It must really suck to know that nobody thinks you're pretty, but she just holds her head up and works everything she's got with more confidence than most "beautiful" girls can muster on their best day. We criticize people like Jessica Simpson for succumbing to the pressure to be cookie-cutter gorgeous, but never praise women like Sarah Jessica for refusing to alter herself to fit other people's narrow ideas of beauty. So I say, Rock on SJP! You're a freaking inspiration!! *steps down off of soapbox*
46Well said, Clepiau.
