A very tan and still blonde Matt Damon has been busy filming The Human Factor in South Africa but he took time off to celebrate the grand opening of the luxurious One and Only Resort in Cape Town. While it's rare to see Matt and Mariah Carey at the same event, the crowd was an interesting mix of celebs. Clint Eastwood, who is currently directing Matt, was there along with Thandie Newton, Marisa Tomei and Robert De Niro. Sharon Stone was documenting the evening on her Flip camera and while they all seemed to be enjoying themselves, Mariah looked especially thrilled. It's been an endless party for the recently turned 40-year-old who just had multiple celebrations in Barbados and Miami.

that really is an interesting mix of folks. think about taking the trip down there just for the opening of a hotel. go figure! must be nice to be a celeb and be able to fly around like that when you want.
i really like thandie's dress here - she's usually a bit more eclectic but this look really works for her too. it's the simple LBD
1Everyone looks great except Mariah. Ugh...
2Ugh... this hotel is around the corner from where I live. The one time where Hollywood celebs are in my suburb, let alone country, and I don't even know about it. Oh well, guess I'll just hae to camp out at the airport over the next coupla days to catch of peek
3Thandie always looks gorgeous - that woman does not age.
4yeah, what's wrong with Mariah's face???
5Robert De Niro, yay!
6mariah just turned 40? get real.
