Despite being just a few short months from her August 2 due date, Naomi Watts happily jumped on the back of Liev's Vespa in NYC yesterday. Now, they're all open about how great the pregnancy has been, but super pregnant scooter-ing still seems a little bold. Vespas are great on open roads and by the beach (mmmm, beach), but something about scooting around NYC seems a little treacherous. Uh, at least she looks happy!

You have a point. My grandmother (who is 90) in Venice, Italy, use to ride a bike 12 miles to the hopital in the 40's to give birth! 9 times! But in NYC in 2007? Why take the risk!
14Yeah this just seems stupid. As someone who rides as well, as much as I abhor hot sticky weather and heavy jackets, leather is the only thing that would remotely protect you should you crash. Skin+pavement=bad idea.
15Seems kind of scary/bad idea to me, too. But at the same time, how many people actually fall off Vespa's? Besides, car crashes are the #1 cause of in-utero baby deaths, so all of us women who jumped in our cars on a regular basis while pregnant, don't really have any legs to stand on here...

28Seems kind of stupid to be putting on a helmet when her belly is right there unprotected. Yeah we all hear stories about people who smoke, drink, and do all sorts of things when pregnant and their babies turn out "fine". IMHO, it is like playing Russian roulette with your baby's life and well-being. If she had an accident and lost or hurt the baby, how many people would be saying "The chance of her having an accident were so low that I really don't fault her." No, she'd be crucified. All it takes is one good bump...
