Blake Wants You to Know She's Not a Piece of Bubble Gum
Blake Lively and her very smoky eyes are on the cover of Allure's May issue, which is out on April 21. She's currently enjoying some time off with Penn, but before her hiatus she sat down with the magazine to chat about keeping her love life private and her image. Here's more:
- On her size: "I feel like a tranny a lot of the time. I don’t know, I’m. . . large? They put me in six-inch heels, and I tower over every man. I’ve got this long hair and lots of clothes and makeup on. I just feel really big a lot of the time, and I’m surrounded by a lot of tiny people. I feel like a man sometimes."
- On her image: "I'm blonde, and I have a small dog, so I try to avoid looking like a piece of bubble gum."
- On why she doesn't talk much about Penn: "You see people who will open up their relationships, who are very affectionate on the red carpet or are doing a reality show with each other, and their relationship just seems to crumble, so I decided to keep a vow of silence."
- On what she will say about her boyfriend: "He plays any instrument he picks up. He bought a piano, and then two months later you would think he was a concert pianist."
It's great to see she's one gorgeous girl who doesn't take things too seriously. Her Gossip Girl costars are going to be busy during their Summer hiatus from the series, and Blake's sure to be back to work once she returns all rested from her trip.

2omgosh, i can identify with the feeling large part. i'm over 6' tall in heels and i also tower over so many of the guys around me! and all of my friends are short! lol i've learned to be comfortable with it... but back in the day, WHEW!

10I like Blake, she's a down to earth girl. I'm not a huge fan of the cover, but there are some gorgeous outtakes at the Allure magazine site.
11well i guess it's good to know that she's not one of those young hollywoods that will overly flaunt their relationship. it's typical for those not to last for the long term, so at least she's being private in the hopes that it'll keep them going strong. i had to laugh though about how she said that she feels like a tranny. it's a good description i suppose for what she means.

14Blake is so lovely, I never thought one could take a bad picture of her, but man those Allure pics make her look really crappy.
15Don't really like that cover shot either. But can def. relate about feeling large. Being tall felt kind of alienating for a lot of my life. Now, I don't give a crap if you're shorter than me.

The cover looks awful. It almost seems like they put too much powder on to set the look. It looks so caked on, yet dull. She is so pretty, they must have worked really hard to make her face look that bad!
17to piggyback on someone's comment above, her mouth is why I can't tolerate anything she's in...she's not photogenic imo, and her mouth looks like it's full of saliva all the time...u know the people that get those white balls in the corners of their mouth when they speak (gagging)...yeah, that's all lol
18That's so great she said that about feeling large. My best friend and I are two very tall women and we always joke about how we are giants when our 5'2" friends are around...it's true, you don't have to be overweight to feel large and in charge! ha ha
19I don't think I've seen a worse cover before!
20I think I'd be friends with her if I was famous. She's very...normal. And what she said about her stature is pretty funny - I often notice her height amongst her costars and wonder if it bugs her. There's nothing wrong with her appearance at all, it's just that most actors are teensy and the normal ones stand out.

25I like Blake.. I like how she makes fun of herself, cute personality.. She is really one of the few young celebs who has her acts together and keep a low-key profile.. I hope to see more of her in other roles..

29Did anyone stop to think that the Allure cover was created to coincide with her quip about feeling like a tranny? I'd say this is just artistic fun, an innovative way to promote healthy body image; packaged in a purposely ironic cover shoot! Congrat's to both Blake and Allure for being daring, original and contemp;-)
30I can't stand the way she moves her lips/mouth when she talks! It annoys the crap out me!
