Mandy Moore posed seductively for the May issue of Details, which hits newsstands April 21. She's promoting her new album, Amanda Leigh and it is expected to showcase a much edgier Mandy than what we've seen before. The singer opened up in the interview about her previous musical experiences and her new husband Ryan Adams. Here are some highlights:
- On her new album Amanda Leigh: "The music is all a reflection of me now, not somebody else's choices. If people don't like the music, then they don't like me—and that's quite all right."
- On her pop music past, which she now calls "crappy": "I was just told to show up and what to sing. . . . That was late-nineties pop music for you. I found myself in the company of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, who had really quality music, much more so than mine was. I'm sure there are people scratching their heads, going 'Wow, how is she still around?'"
- On her husband Ryan: "When it comes to the possibility and potential to collaborate, or to be able to run decisions or ideas by someone . . . it's nice to have that. I feel very lucky, you know?"
Sounds like Mandy is ready to dive into a new music career with the help of her husband, and hopefully she'll be happier with the outcome this time around.

I've always liked her
1Her music has always been forgettable but I can't help but love her. She's so sweet and cute.
2It's funny, I hated her in the late '90s because I didn't think she was that talented (except as an actress), but she was really too young and new to the business that she couldn't do what she wanted creatively and had to flow with the pop tart mold. Despite that, I always thought that she had a good head on her shoulders. Nowadays I actually love her more than Britney or Christina.
3I love that she was around in the 90's and there has been no scandal about her: no drugs, no sex tape, no alcoholism.
4I like that she recognizes Britney and Christina as two talented entretainers in the pop world, not many people are humble enough to do that.
5Yeah I also like her comment about Christina and Britney, that was very nice of her. I've liked her since she did the movie "Saved", but I agree the songs they had her singing were pretty bad, even though her voice itself isn't bad.

12well that's not really good to say about the start of your career now is it mandy? i don't know - i feel like she was even younger than all those girls and was doing her thing, and at the time there was NO QUALITY music coming from these bubble gum girls...so it's not like she was any worse than the others.
13i agree...not so great music (some Wild Hope stuff is decent!), TERRIBLE movies (except Saved)..but for some reason, i love her and think she's a great role model.
i did like her in Entourage though!

She's sweet,kind, gentle loving person and i think she chooses the right things for her to make her happy. she doesnt put herself out there which i love about her. i think if you people have nothing to nice to say about her should get off here. i loved her movie A Walk To Remember.
