Are You Glad That Matt Giraud Was Saved on Idol Last Night?
Matt Giraud made American Idol history last night when he became the first contestant to be saved by the judges instead of getting kicked off. Simon made it clear that he still doesn't think Matt will win the competition. Plus, this means that two will be booted next week, so he's not out of the woods yet. So tell us — are you glad that Matt was saved on Idol?

A nice enough guy with talent. They all have *some* talent. But to save him? I'm a female but Paula & Kara want to save everyone. Too emotional for them at this point. And the last 2 weeks, Paula, the nurturer (who I like), runs up on the stage to hug them? Matt and Scott both should've been gone.
1No - they're gonna be really sorry next week when chances are they'll have to cut two favorites.
2I think they should have saved Alexis so that that hokey Michael guy wouldn't have been in the top 10. She doesn't get to go on tour and I thought she was way better than him. I think they would have used it this week no matter what since if they waited until the end it would have been a little lame.
3i like matt a lot, and i think he has potential. but i like kris better so if he's in trouble down the line, i'll be sad they wasted it on matt...

It sounded like they only had another week (i.e., couldn't wait until top 4, or anything) so I'm glad they did!
I'd rather hear him than Anoop, Allison, or Lil, who are probably the the only other people who will need the saving.
5Out of all the Idol contestants Matt is the one person I could see myself buying their album and enjoying it.
6This season isn't as exciting as past seasons. Adam is entertaining but more Broadways bound.
Bottom line I am glad they used the save on Matt but if they didn't have the save I wouldn't mind too much if he went home because majority of past idols that are sucessful didn't win (J. Hudson, Daughtry, Pickler etc.). With that said I would stop watching if Matt was voted off.
Matt is great, I always enjoy his performances, I am very glad he's been saved for the delight of all his fans

9No, they wasted it on him. I think he's a Justin Timberlake knock off. He is easy on the eyes though!
10I like Matt, but I don't think they should've used the save on Matt. He is a good singer but I don't think he's meant to be the winner of AI and that is probably a blessing in disguise. I think they should've used the save on Alexis weeks ago, because she was WAY better than Michael Sarver or Scott McIntyre. I hope that the two AI contestants that go home next week are Matt and Anoop. Or Lil...but I think that would suck if Alison was the only girl in the top 5.
