Trying to sift through a million Paris updates...As if we needed a courtroom sketch to prove it, Paris Hilton was obviously not in good spirits when she was sentenced to return to jail this morning. According to the paperwork, Paris is set to serve the original "45 days with appropriate credit," though the heiress is already planning on filing an appeal. Paris will spend the weekend in a medical jail facility called Twin Towers. Sheriff Baca, the man who was in charge of letting Paris out in the first place (and whose job I'm guessing may not last too long), still contends that Paris has "increasingly deteriorating...severe mental problems." Rumor has it that Hilton's mysterious mental condition may be claustrophobia, but who knows. For now, though, I think she'll have to quietly wait through the weekend.

claustrophobia? That's crap. If a jail cell scares her, being enclosed in a car would scare her.
1She was probably going through detox. That's my guess.
2what mental problems? oh man im started to really be scared 4 her? im afraid she will kill herself and i kno none of u care but this is sad
3Who on earth gets out of jail for claustrophobia!!!! Wouldn't everyone simply claim that was their condition if it could get them out of jail. Ridiculous.
4Well, if she goes to a mental/health facility...is better than nothing...wish it was real jail tho.
5that artist makes paris look terrible.
6mmm yeah i think she needs to come to a jail in panama jejej she will go nuts!!
7I think claustrophobia would prohibit her from driving around in those tiny sports cars - if that turns out to be one of her "reasons" I call BS.
8the panamenian rakatakas, would cut her face with a knife!!!
9oh...it'll be excuses and excuses till her sentence is over...she will be "sick" everyday...and take daily doctor trips...I doubt she'll stay full days in jail...
10---------------
claustrophobic....I would think that would have shown on her trips to the toilet to "powder" her nose...if you know what i mean...
---------------
Is all Hilton BS!
Well Charles Manson has mental problems I guess he is next for release.
11I agree katiewaves...sounds like detox to me. Jail might not only teach her a lesson, but hopefully rid her of her obvious drug addiction.
12Gossipqueen not to mention the fact that she flies all over the place. You would think that "claustrophobia" would have shown by now.
13Wouldn't she have known she was claustrophobic BEFORE all this? If it was good enough to get her out of jail, wouldn't it have kept her out in the first place? This may be off but isn't 2 few hour visits with a shrink a little short on evidence and time to establish a grave condition like this? convenient and bull- I need to get away from these posts!
14And what about those claustrophobic clubs?
15I agree with Katie, but I can't wait to see what they could possible conjure up..
16Having your driver's license is a PRIVILEGE...Paris broke the law by getting a DUI...major NO NO...so she got Probation...giving her a second chance to reflect and hopefully re-earn the privilege of driving again...well...she threw that second chance right down the drain by breaking her probation by wreckless driving..her chances were up..now she doesn't want to do the time even though she did the crime..and at almost 30 yrs old crying to her mother to help her out of this..MY GOD IT'S ONLY 23 DAYS!!! She wasn't raped (that happens every day), she didn't lose a child (happens everyday), one of her loved ones wasn't murdered (happens everyday), she didn't lose her home, she is not going to go hungry, she did not find out she has a disease and is dying....hell, she didn't even stump her big toe...she has more money than any of us could ever dream of, she has her beauty and fame and she has her youth...she has so much to be thankful for and she didn't even have to work for any of it...but she is SOOOOO SPOILED that she is acting like the world is coming to an end....the Sheriff is right about one thing..she has some severe mental problems...she was and is a waste of life...all the good she could be doing and she has turned out to be nothing better than pond scum... even pond scum has a purpose...Paris Hilton has no purpose....her parents should be ashamed they had part in raising such a noncaring, selfish heathen.
17Yes - the artist does make Paris look bad - and makes her Mom look great! Well, except for the sad face of course.
You know how jail time can sometimes do wonders for one's career? Whinning about jail time will most likely do the opposite. She should just suck it up...the jail time that is
18I was really starting to feel bad for her this afternoon, but it's slipping away now. I do hope she's properly cared for, but I really don't understand how she can conceivably be so claustrophobic she physically can't tolerate prison, and this has never presented itself before.
P.S. I love that the artist captured her beak nose and wonky eye perfectly.
19tbh i dont they should b harder or nicer to her, they should just teach her to learn that she is a human person. i think it was really dumb that they took her out because it was so obvious that it would b an uproar, but its just as stupid to be harsher as well just for show to the public coz its so transparent. im alittle bored of paris in jail thing, im not really that botherd.
20damn Baca has had one hell of a career....so many high profile things have happened under his watch
21I do feel bad for her!
22I guess her claustrophobia is one that is only brought on by having no makeup, having to wear the same thing as everyone, and no one sucking up to you.
23Hahahahaha, karisaamy. I think I have that kind of claustraphobia too!!!
24For some reason, I think Paris's case is being used as an example for all other celebrities to send the message that they are not above the law. Poor Paris, I do feel sorry for her and I hope she doesn't have a mental breakdown. It's not her fault that the sherrif let her out after only three days. Now she has to serve the full 45 days. I think at this point, it isn't fair at all for her especially when she is being mislead by other peoples actions.
25I'd put my money on the "medical condition" being either a drug problem (as people have already stated), or her just being scared. Neither warrants her release. I'm really hoping the judge doesn't overturn the 45 days come Monday.
26Well, the sheriff did say that the prison is at 20,000 inmates; completely over-crowded, and that most of the inmates (90%) are there for felonies (murder, etc). He said that most people with minor crimes are let out after doing only 10% of their sentence.
If that is true, then I think the judge is definitely being too harsh/unfair.
And correct me if I am wrong, but she wasn't driving dangerously, she was just driving on a suspended license, which violated her parole.
I have a few friends that have driven on a suspended license after a DUI...
27Spitfire you are so right!!!
28I actually feel bad for Paris. Her actions were illegal and I think that deserves a jail sentence for driving under the influence. However, she's right in that punishments for DUIs are not applied the same across the board. So to me, it does seem that in part the judge is making an example out of her or trying to teach her a lesson.
In college, my friend and I were at a stop light once when we were rear-ended by a truck (with its lights off) going 54 mph. Not only was the other driver drunk, but our accident marked:
1) 9pm on they guy's 21st birthday
2) his third DUI
3) his second hit-and-run drunk driving accident.
My attorney said that his license would be suspended, and that his only chance of going to jail would have been if he'd killed or seriously injured my friend & me. The only time this louse spent time in jail was at the time of his arrests, and he was only there long enough to post bail. Lovely, huh?
So if someone like him was given so many chances after three accidents, then I don't understand what all of a sudden makes authorities care so much about Hilton's mistakes with less serious consequences...
29dropstar where are you from? Maybe state laws are different regarding DUI's...
30she was speeding with her headlights off - both times she got pulled over. it might not be the most dangerous driving in the world, but it is reckless. I mean, if she drove normally, why would they pull her over in the first place?
and claustrophobic my ass. that's such a lame excuse. why do people keep coming up with lame excuses - it just insults our intelligence.
and it probably is just withdrawal anyways. she was shaking and sweating in the courtroom, classic symptoms of withdrawls. we all know that paris is not straight edge.
31I hope that a medical facility can deal with her medical problems as capably as being on home arrest in the lap of luxury could!
32It wasn't Paris' fault that she was let out early? It most certainly WAS. Her getting out of jail and into house arrest was carefully orchestrated by her, her shrink, her parents, and Baca. She violated probation TWICE, once by speeding at night with no headlights on a suspended license. Shoot, she didn't even have to do jail overnight when she got arrested for her initial DUI and almost everyone I know who received a DUI did an overnight in jail. Of course, they also didn't drive on a suspended license and actually attended that court mandated alcohol education class so they didn't end up with jail time. Except Gary. He got nailed driving on a suspended license and did 10 days in the county jail. That was after ONE time. I would say that 23 days after two driving on a suspended license and ignoring the alcohol education classes is a fair deal.
33I went to school in Missouri in a large college town. Maybe the police had to deal with so many DUIs they just didn't make pursuing jailtime a priority unless someone was seriously injured.
Kinda like when someone stole my debit card a few years ago in the DC area, I had to file a report in each county where illegal purchases were made. Most were made in a troubled county. The cops told me when I filed the report that they had murders to solve, and it was unlikely charges would ever be brought against the thief--even though I gave them her name and the name of an accomplice!
How is in your state?
34I'm sure right until the moment she turned herself in she didn't think she was going to spend anytime in jail. With the kind of money that family has I'm sure everyone around her programed her to think there was no way to would pay the piper. She's tramatized alright, that she is really being treated like everyone else.
35Good decision, hope she will serve fulltime in some jail, I can not belive they thought she could actually serve home detention.. Hope money can buy her out anymore, but true realty is very sad that this is happening - for them money is buying everything ..almost everything.... They think this is cruel, ..these Hiltons..and rich don't know what is cruel - unbelieveable.
36I have never heard before that somebody is released from jail because they suffer a medical condition, that is why they have jail facilities for the sick ones...
Unbelievable..
I for one am not a Paris fan but this is just wrong on so many levels. This judge is making an example of her, it's not right. I was listening to the news earlier and some judge on there said that no one in that state of CA has ever been sentenced to such an extreme sentence as her for committing the same crime.
Regardless of how you feel about it her it is WRONG to over punish someone just because of who they are. Also the majority of people in jail are not in a room by themselves for 23 hours a day. Good gracious I'd go crazy too.
I hope her lawyers win their appeal and get her out of there ASAP. I heard someone on the news, Greta Van whatever I think, say that she looked awful and possibly suicidal. No matter how much you hate someone I'd hope you would not wish such a fate on them.
Okay off my soapbox, for now anyways.

37I am so sick of seeing celebrities get away with criminal behavior! Just because you're rich & famous doesn't give you the right to do something illegal. Not only is it illegal but she is endangering the lives of others.
I know if it were me acting the way Paris does I'd be thrown in jail & I'd have to sit & rot in their regardless of if I had a "medical condition" (which I HIGHLY doubt she does) or not.
38What kind of message is Baca trying to send?? That it is okay to commit crimes because there is no room for you in Jail??? yeah that is a great message. Maybe if there were harsher punishments there would not be so many felonies. This Sheriff makes me sick, and the fact that he is pretty much insuating that it is okay to break parole is disgusting.
39I know everyone thinks that she being made an example of..and some say that she should get the same as everyone else across the board..BUT..Paris is not the same...every case is different and not everyone will get the same sentence. If she had not made such a big deal of it in the first place and then on top of that SHOWED UP LATE for the first court hearing (JUDGES ABSOLULTEY HATE WAITING) then I think some people would have seen this differently. She is never late for an interview but she's late for court? She has no regard for authority and she is in absolute shock that money or fame can not get her out of this..I think that is what's bothering her the most..she is coming to the reality that maybe the world doesn't revolve around her and maybe there are consequences to pay for ...and no way out but to pay them...and not with money. She is in total shock..and for the first time in her life..she's seeing the world in a different way.
40Exactly, Spitfire.
I don't think Paris really learned anything or took any responsibility from the mistakes she made. She's probably never had to. Now she is getting a taste of that and it's scary...but certainly not unjust. You can't get a DUI, violate probation twice and not expect the punishment to be more. Jail was the next step. It's time she learns she's not above the law and has to step up and face her mistakes. We all make them and have to survive the consequences, so why can't she?
41She should be sentenced to house arrest in our first NYC apartment: a one room 4th floor walkup with a balky heating system and a mariachi band living above us.
42I love how a judge actually does his job for once regarding a celebrity, and every ignornant person that think they know one thing about the law says he's a bad person and she's being over punished. First of all, 45 days is a small sentence, a lot of people that do the same thing get a worse punishment. Mental problems my ass, mental problems don't just pop up out of no where, and I don't see why she should be given special privileges for her "mental problems", when most people in jail have some sort of "mental problem". People kill themselves all the time in jail, someone acting "suicidal" shouldn't stop people from punishing them. As someone said Charles Manson has mental problems, I would say worse than Paris. Should we let him roam around, because it's not really his fault?
And, to Anne Kate, if people don't want to be in a cell for 23 hours a day, they shouldn't break the law. It's simple logic, she broke the law, she knew what she was doing, it's her own fault. If I broke the law, I wouldn't fight the punishment if I was caught, I would accept the fact that it was my fault. They shouldn't let her out, then she will think she can just get away with this again, and next time she may kill someone. Either way, she may not learn her lesson, but there is a better chance of her changing if she actually has to deal with the consequences.
43I'm confused why stupid LL's shenanigans were not talked about as much as Paris's. She was arrested for a DUI I believe, AND she supposedly had cocaine in her car?? And she's in rehab now, all smiley? I say, put her dumb a** in jail too!
but, what would be great is if Paris can come out of this a changed person, for the better...but I'm prolly dead wrong on that one
44She is totally getting what has been coming to her. Karma, baby.
45brokenbracelet: LL hasn't had her trial yet, so who knows what her punishment will be. Hopefully it will be just as harsh so she can also learn that she isn't better than the rest of us. These tramps are on my last nerve.
46Mental problems = narcissistic personality disorder?
Now we just need to get Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan in jail with her.
47BBDancer- the average citizen who is sentenced to jail for such a crime not only has less time to serve but also is not in solitary confinement for a month and half. Yes, she broke the law and she should be punished but her punishement needs to fit the crime. Believe me I can't stand the girl but I feel she is being treated unfairly because of who she is.
Our legal system is so screwed up. That preacher's wife in TN, the one who shot & killed her husband as he slept while her 3 young children were in the house, was sentenced today. She got 60 days in a psych hospital and then she is OUT for good! What is wrong with this picture?!!
48I bet the sheriff was bribed and that is how she got out in the first place. All the MIA paperwork regarding her "medical condition" is highly suspicious. The judge said he would review and consider it, and it never appeared.
49Personally, I think that if the judge is trying to make and example of Paris, more power to him. I'm no saint, but these girls are out of control. There being in the public eye makes it that much worse because they are in a position to influence the behavior of impressionable people who look up to them. I'm 24, but I used to work with a lot of girls that are younger than me and so many of them worship Paris, Nicole, Lindsay and Britney. These girls mimic their idols' fashion, speech and, unfortunately, their mistakes and questionable behavior. Shouldn't we all learn from this example that there are consequences for our actions?
I know I sound preachy, but seriously, no "ordinary" person would be released from jail for mental conditions or illness. If everyone with a mental condition was released from jail, our streets would be over run with criminals.
She's in "solitary confinement" because her lawyer requested it. And she has a cellmate, I believe.
