Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault kicked off their wedding weekend with a masked gala on Friday night in Venice for all their guests. Celebrity attendees include Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend, as well as Ed Norton, Woody Harrelson, Antonio Banderas, Melanie Griffith, Penelope Cruz, Ashley Judd, and more. Salma and Francois-Henri's daughter Valentina got to join in the festivities, carried into the awaiting gondolas in the arms of her smiling father. What an amazing way to welcome guests to their wedding — hopefully the bride and groom can focus on the party because the official ceremony part was all the way back on Valentine's Day.

7Am I the only one who thinks the whole think looks stupid and incredibly, incredibly pretentious? I want to see the picture of Woody Harrelson in a tux holding up a mask--totally not his style whatsoever!! My opinion of Salma has just gone down quite a few notches.

11I really don't see how having a party with a theme to welcome your guests is pretentious! The masquerade balls at the Venice Carnival are world famous so it makes complete sense that their theme would be masks. The weekend sounds like it will a ton of fun!
