I personally think cyclists are traffic hazards and would be safer on the footpaths. They pop out of nowhere and pull up side you before you even know it. I'm usually looking at street
signs/traffic lights and other cars and have been startled by cyclists whooshing up the side of me. Is it not legal to wear helmets in the US?

4its legal to not wear helmets as long as you are 18 or older, at least from where i live
5Definitely need helmets. Esp. him with one hand in his pocket. One little slip and there he goes with a head bleed!
