Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman were back to work on The Baster yesterday, and Jason got another visit from his daughter Francesca between takes. While Jen's got her hands full with her upcoming project, she's pulling double duty promoting Management at the same time. In a recent interview she talked about breakups, projects, and what she'd be doing if she weren't an actor. Here are highlights:
- On an awkward breakup: "I broke up with a guy and he tried to get back together with me by bringing his mother to a restaurant I worked at and getting down on one knee in the middle of the restaurant. The whole restaurant started applauding and I was like, 'Get up!' It was horrible."
- On what she'd do if she quit acting: "I would say, probably something in the health industry. It's too late to go to medical school. I'd travel. I'd go back to the years that I never did what I'd wish I'd done, which was travel Europe and backpack. That sounds slightly romantic. What I would do? I don't know. Maybe become a chef. There's so much more to do. It's almost overwhelming. I've gotten to a great place in my career."
- On how she chooses her films: "You've got to really love the project. I just left home after I built up my house for 2½ years. I moved in for a month and now I'm here. I don't want to do the same thing over and over. It's not about, 'Oh, it's going to be a big hit.' I don't want to do that."
Whether or not Jen chooses blockbusters on purpose, she's proven that she knows a thing or two about making hit movies.

i like JA b/c she just seems to have an easy, breezy, laid back attitude towards life. no matter what happens, she usually has a big smile on her face. IMO, that's rare. when i'm pissed off, i usually show it!
8you know, it's only the people that have money in their lives now that say they would do all these whimsical things if they weren't an actor. would she be able to afford to travel like she wants if she didn't have all this money from acting? would you imagine that her parents would have just funded her travels? i don't really think so. oh well.

14I liked Marley and Me. I like most of her movies. Who cares if they are hits or not. I think the script was good for Marley and Me and it did show her range.

26Something definitely seems different about her face lately. Seems to have come on suddenly, so I'd guess either a health issue or some work, rather than a natural aging process.
27I think Jen looks happy and relaxed. She is moving on with her life and she has lots of good people around her. She will do just fine. Hope she picks a non actor/model/musician for next boyfriend. A nice successful businessman is the answer.

Ames, again I have excellent read comprehension skills and she didn't say anything about what she would do after acting did she? She gave a list of crap she has thought about but its not a something where she has actually planned anything. So I stand by my original post.

32I don't think name calling is necessary, Ames. Its very hard to take you seriously with your immaturity level showing.
Secondly, Jen doesn't have a back up plan or anything because she isn't gonna do anything but act until she can't anymore and its evident from her response thats the case. Jen didn't say she would go to medical school, she didn't even consider it, she said its to late for that. That's what she flipping said. So I don't care if you think I am judgmental, if you cared to read what I read you hear the same thing I heard. Jen only wants to be an actress and thats the only thing she has ever thought about. So not my problem you don't see that. I never said it was wrong that she only wants to act, all I am saying its clear she never had a back plan.
