Christina may be tearing up the charts with her new album, but apparently she is not a big enough star for the cover of Vibe. Well, she was, but then she got bumped by Bobby Brown. Who wasn't a fan of Being Bobby Brown last summer, but let's be honest, what has he really done recently? The Lowdown reports:
It was disappointing enough for Aguilera — who did a big interview and photo shoot for Vibe's October cover to hype her chart-topping album "Back to Basics" — when there was a regime change at the music mag, and the new editors dumped the megawatt pop star in favor of Whitney Houston's troubled hubby.
But I hear the Aguilera camp went ballistic — with her powerful manager, Irving Azoff, sending a saber-rattling letter alleging breach of contract — when Vibe wanted to use the sexy photos on its Web site, but not in the print version.

16frenchydb, I´ve seen one photo of her without make-up, searched it by google. She has pale skin, but purely. It´s just so strange to see her without make-up cause she´s always painted like a advertising pillar!

21The old days of Hollywood are over, it's sadly true. But I admire her for at least trying to have some class instead of falling into the sleaze trap (which she did for awhile). 36I do not mean to offend anyone, but the new editor of Vibe sounds like a racist. I read the full article somewhere else. Xtina is one of the hottest gigs in music right now ( considering pop and rap music completely sucks right now), so why they would choose a has been that ruined one of the most talented women that has ever existed, over white hot right now Christina, tome, just sounds like the new editor does not want a white girl on his cover. Guarantee if this was the other way around, and the magazine was In Style, the reaction would be quite different.

40I think Xtina has respect by the Vibe readers, just not the editors. I read Vibe, and I am a white girl, so I am the Vibe audience too. I remember at the BET awards about 2 yrs ago, Xtina was the ONLY white performer, and she belted out "Run to You" by Whitney ( irony much) and she was the best act of the night. Even Whitney was impressed. I do think there is a place for her in the magazine!

42Their are plenty of magazines out there that never ever have black, latino, or asian artists on the cover. Does that make the other magazines racist as well?!
43tabloid- the situation here was that Xtina was slated for the cover, and it was pulled for a much lesser talent( at this present time of his career), when a new editor came in. I said that that particular move seemed racist to me.
If Vogue slated Beyonce for the cover, and they decided to give it to Carrot Top instead, when a new editor came in, then , I would find that just as bad.
In fact, in my eyes, unless Bobby Brown is best friends with the new editor, or he about to drop a great project( which he has been saying for years) , I, personally, see no other explanation.
There is racism everywhere, it does not make anyones actions any more justifiable to me. Keeping barriers up will only keep racism stronger, but it will never go away.

45The decision is very strange. Personally, I don't like X-tina's "look" but she is very talented, and her career is hot right now, much hotter than Bobby's.

Also, the lack of different ethnic groups on the cover of magazines is, and always has been an issue, and you have no idea how I feel about that because I never stated anything about it.Maybe I have written e mails on my thoughts. I am simply talking about this particular situation. Let me ask you , how do you "know " who is racist? Do you work for them or know someone that does? Not saying they are or are not, because I do not know anything about anyone at that magazine other then the reported story about the new editor.
