The newly 21 Mary-Kate went solo on the pages of Italian Vogue's July issue, looking all nonchalant and pretty, despite the cigarette in her hand. Speaking of that 21st birthday celebration, over the weekend she and Ashley apparently threw themselves an extravagant birthday party and sold the pics to a photo agency for $300,000. Well, that's a nice little bit of pocket change for Olsens! That probably at least paid off any costs of throwing the party. Smart little cookies -- now I see how they became the bajillionaires they are today.

I hate to sound like a prude but I hate the smoking shots. So unnecessary. I mean, it screams "If you want to be skinny like me, don't eat and just smoke!" Sorry, there is nothing sexy about smoking (or there shouldn't be anything sexy about smoking). Watching a person die from lung cancer is certainly not pretty.

I think it's so irresponsible for these young stars to be photographed at photo-shoots smoking cigarettes. It's like we've gone back in time to an era when we didn't know they caused cancer and a zillion other horrible health issues.
