While Katie Holmes is off having some fun in the sun in Cannes, Maggie Gyllenhaal has been hard at work to fill Katie's shoes as Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight. One fan was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Maggie and Aaron Eckhart on the movie set in Chicago. Anthony Michael Hall, who played the lovably geeky Brian in The Breakfast Club also just signed on to the movie, but his part is top secret. We have to say that it's looking like Maggie is making a pretty easy transition into Katie's role. Now if only we could get a peek at yummy Christian Bale in the batsuit.

13Heh, I work right by where they are filming this, and I always hope to see one of the actors! It looks like it's going to be awesome. I also saw a flatbed truck transporting the Batmobile the other day--it was mostly covered with a black plastic sheet but you could tell it was the Batmobile
Now just bring on the Christian pics and I'll be happy...
14I work right around the corner from that set too, looks like they're packing everything up this a.m. though. That must have been the weekend they shut down the whole area for filming...
Wish I could get a glimpse of Christian though...
15gblinda--I know they are shooting for at least 12 weeks, so don't fret! That glimpse of Christian might become a reality (haha, I can't help it, I'm an optimist, especially when it comes to this sort of thing)

17Sofico, the producers at WB not ask Katie her to come back. There was a lot of fan backlash, and they replaced her with a more capable actress. Kate's publicist says it's "Scheduling conflicts," but as you can see, Dark Knight is filming now, and Kate has nothing on her schedule.
Anyways, I loved Maggie in Sherry Baby and I think she'll be wonderful in this role!

21I never saw "Dawson's Creek", so I don't really know if Katie is a good actress...well she was pretty unkown until she hooked up with Tom Cruise (yikes!)
