Julia Roberts flashed a smiled and waved to fans as she headed into The Late Show last night in NYC. She sat down with Dave to talk about his recent wedding, as well as her participation in a benefit for her friend Paul Newman's Hole in the Wall Gang camp. Julia and Dave seem to go way back, and the pair laughed their way through the interview as Julia gave him a hard time for eyeing her up during her last visit. They'll have something else to be happy about today — her presence helped Dave beat The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien in the ratings for the first time. 2I'm sorry but David > Conan. I don't understand Conan's sense of humor at all, even though most of my friends love him. I'd rather watch David Letterman & Craig Ferguson than Leno/O'Brien/Fallon.
Julia looked lovely last night, and I love her rapport with David.
3They are so cute together on the show. He is obviously so smitten; and she is obviously such a shameless flirt. Plus she loves him too. They're both funny, witty, and so smart. Love them. Letterman has mellowed so much since his son was born, and since his heart surgery. He's my favorite, along with Jimmy Kimmell and Charlie Rose. I haven't quite warmed to Conan's nervousness - what is that about? Why can't he just relax and be himself? He'd be so much more likeable and watchable.
4not really a big deal, but HITW is a charity both Dave and Julia support. Dave and Newman were friends for over twenty years and Letterman was donating supplies and dropping in at fund raisers long before Julia worked as a volunteer counselor in '97.
5She needs a new hairdo. Don't find either Dave or Conan funny. Jay, yes.
6I'd watched Letterman over Conan but Jay is and always will be my favorite.
Never understood Julia Roberts' beauty. I don't even think she's that attractive and she has that annoying laugh in every film.
7I'm not normally a fan but I think she looks really good here. Very glam!
8She's a lotta annoying when she "flirts" and tries to be "on."
9And also, a recap of a fundraiser is riveting television. NOT. (I know, it's a great benefit--not my point.)

11Dave and Julia are always good together & they beat Conan in ratings last night. Conan's been dropping steadily in the ratings every night since he started this new show. He's way below Leno's old ratings now, and Dave hasn't lost any numbers so far.
12How do they calculate these ratings? Does it account for internet viewings? I watch Conan religiously, but online. His audience is a lot younger so I'd imagine I'm not the only one doing this.
13I love how she's the only one he goes down to meet and hug. It's always fun to watch them.
14aww, i really love this woman. i think she is gorgeous and just so down to earth and a great actress. she seems to be getting better w/ age.
