I really doubt it, "Dukes of Hazzard" wasn't that good of a movie in which was supposed to be her debut acting performance.

It's hard to say...I think when you're a singer first, people don't always transition well into acting. And people see Jessica a certain way...I think it's hard to look past her persona and give her acting a chance, cause you assume it will be bad..ya know?

I don't think she's particularly talented in either respect. Personally, I'm not yet impressed. If she starts taking herself and her career seriously, I think she might be able to make a name for herself but I don't think she'll ever be a mega-star.

i was going to say that she was a singer cause i used to like her voice but i herd her recently and not being harsh but she sounded really bad, like trying to b a over the top britany spears with a cold. she has a fun personality tho, she also looks pretty here

I don't know that you can consider any of the roles she's had as "acting" - playing a dumb blonde is pretty much a daily thing for her. I'm not a big fan of her signing either. I agree that she's basically mediocre and has marketed herself well...sad for all those talented people who can't get jobs.

Hell no. She's also not a singer. Her efforts have flopped for years and she only sold some because of Newlyweds. Her last cd flopped as much as her movies did. The only thing she has going for her is her big boobs, sorry. I think she'll get another high profile man soon enough.

I said no. She's horrible and she always picks the dumb blonde parts, which do not help her. But I don't know if she should stick to singing either. Her voice is so annoying, not to mention, watching her sing is annoying as well.

I agree with mello. She has a weak voice. I think she had plenty of "help" to get it to sound good on her records. Plus Papa Simpson's marketing and PR help attributes to her celebrity status. But acting? Um...no.

i can't honestly say she's a good actress, however, she is entertaining to watch. perhaps over time she'll be able to hone her acting skills...but she's definitely been pigeon-holed into the blonde, pop-tart stereotype (if mostly because of her own actions), so she's got a quite a ways to go before she gets anything other than dumb-blonde comedic roles.

She could sing at ONE time and I don't know if she can now. But her daddy couldn't market her to any success in the teen pop boom, so I can't see him doing it now. She had some opportunities to try to shine as a singer (Kennedy Center Honors) and she blew it and Papa Joe thought it was cute. Before newlyweds she was broke and d-list. Now that her marriage is over there isn't much going for her in terms of career.

in the very beginning on her first album- she had a good voice. at least what i remember- she was one of those pop tarts that could actually sing i thought. lately its all that breathy weird not quite singing cr*p. so i dunno if her first albums were just more enhanced, or if she lost her talent, or if she just things its cutesy to put on that fake voice- but she's bad now! and i agree with sweetpotato.. ditxy blonde is a lifestyle, not an acting gig!
