they really do look happy. i think that katie just ALWAYS looks better with longer hair so the extensions and the ponytail are just cute looks for her. it's nice to see that she still has so much time to spend with suri and i'm sure that they will be in australia before we know it.

What do you think of the gossip that Tom Cruise is trying to help Katie steal away Anne Hathaway's upcoming Broadway gig as Judy Garland in "Get Happy" by buying her this TV spot and trying to push huis weight around?

BethanyBee, I thought AH was playing Judy Garland on film? I didn't realize it was for broadway also. As far as lookwise, neither resembles Judy Garland, but Anne comes closer.

Hathaway apparently has the starring role in the Weinstein film and also on the Broadway stage version of Garland's Gety Happy. Insiders claim it's not a secret that Katie Holmes wanted it. So I think it's very transparent that she would decide to do this completely out-of-the-blue appearance on the much-watched TV reality show and choose to do her own version of a Judy Garland tribute. Timing is everything, non?

BethanyBee--very correct. Also, don't forget Katie tried out for Nine but didn't make the cut. Clearly the scientologists don't see her making it in acting so they are trying the song and dance routine. Pretty desperate to resort to SYTYCD. Also, not classy at all to try to upstage Hathaway. I thought that the minute I heard about it before Lainey mentioned it on her website. It's that obvious what they are doing. I don't necessarily blame Katie as she seems to be under mind control right now, sadly.

It really begs and screams for some comparison to be made. Wonder why they'd want to go there.

Talk about cuteness overload. Suri is so precious and reminds me how my own mom and grandma used to dress me up and now Im doing the same to my niece like she's my little princess. Suri and Katie also looked free and more happier when the papaarzzis are not on their faces and screaming.
I have no doubt Katie will aced this part.

I have the video of Katie hosting SNL from an ezboard site. She was singing and doing a tap dancing showdown with Will Ferrell. She's superfab and Will Ferell was hilarious.
She wowed the crowd even Dave Matthews band. I like to link it but I know popsugar's rules will stall it.
Why bash Katie compared to Hathaway it will only serve Katie well in the long run. Hollywood is unpredictable and full of surprises and so is life.

I completely agree Katie is no match for Anne Hathaway's talent and star power (especially with the way both are seen in the eyes of their peers and producers in Hollywood). That's why I bring it up. I don't think the choice of this performance on reality television (of all places!!) will reflect well on her when Anne has already been handed the coveted Broadway and big screen roles that Katie reportedly wished for. The obvious comparisons that have to be made will not fall in her favor. Plus Anne Hathaway will be doing the show live on Broadway for countless nights while Katie has a taped and edited performance.
