Madonna loves Michael Jackson. Has anyone seen the pictures of her from the 80's with him. I mean she sang Billie Jean during her Virgin Tour. In so many ways they were both alike. Both born on the same in the same month and year. Both are Icons and changed Pop Music. I truly believe her when she says she's upset.

Michael`s in his happy place now... away from all the media drama..

Why do celebs feel the need to release a press statement like this about how they are grieving the loss? Madonna is such a media ho, it's like she's trying to make herself relevant to the Michael Jackson story.

Have they even been in the same room together in the last 10-15 years? If she's so broken up, then I could see contacting the family, but I don't see the point in telling the whole world. To me it sounds more about Madonna, but that isn't exactly a surprise, since she's her own favorite topic.

agree tiabia and azh. if micheal was the king, she is the queen. both came up at the same time. they both shared the same kind of fame. madonna made a statement because shes a famous star and micheal was a peer. i would expect to hear something from her. not for attention.

They didn't come up at the same time or share the same kind of fame. Michael was on tv and recording back in the late 60s and was a huge international superstar before anyone heard of Madonna. She first got airplay around 1985, which was a couple of years after Thriller. Her talent is nowhere near what his was. She really got most famous for trying to push the envelope all the time.

But of course Madonna thinks everyone is waiting to hear her views on anything, so she has to inject her opinion.

Michael started at a young age in a family musical group, but as a soloist, it wasn't until the later part of the 70s. Madonna started her career in the late 70s in bands, then as a soloist in 1980, and she released her first single- Everybody-in 1982. He was the most successful male artist (King of Pop) and she the most successful female artist (Queen of Pop). So yes, they were peers. Everyone released a statement, why shouldn't she when she actually met him?
