Forbes released its annual Top-Earning Hollywood Actresses list based on the salaries they acquired from June 2008 to June 2009. Angelina Jolie earned the most with $27 million, narrowly beating out Jennifer Aniston, who brought in $25 million. Meryl, SJP, and last year's winner, Cameron, made the top five while Sandra, Reese, Nicole, Drew, and Renée rounded out the 10, which included a few ties. Many of these ladies have had blockbuster hits this past year, and Reese and Nicole were number one in 2007 and 2006 respectively. 11It's sad that household names are ahead of Academy Award winning actresses. I hate seeing popularity being rewarded over talent. Cameron Diaz and Sandra Bullock play the same character in every movie. In another 10 years when they don't have their looks to carry them anymore, you won't hear anything about them. I have much more respect for the more versatile women on this list. They might not make as much or be in US Weekly on a regular basis, but at least they are more than a pretty face and a nice pair of arms.

a lot of the money and power will also come from having your own production company. though they may not have taken on many roles themselves, they may have taken on projects or films behind the scenes.

26I wonder if the Forbes list is complete. I am surprised Catherine Zeta Jones is not on the list. Her endorsements alone should have her on there I would think. Also, I have heard it reported that Halle Berry makes $10-13 million per film. Here they have her at $7 million. I am totally surprised that Kate Winsett made on $2 million, I would have thought she got at least $5 million per film. I guess that will change with her Oscar win. Hopefully.

32i think this list makes sense because a lot of those actresses have side projects. most are from endorsement deals, owning production companies etc. most of their money is made from those kind of things. it's hard nowadays to bring in big bucks with just your movies, especially if you consider how much money goes in to making it.

35First of all Aniston would get fired from community theater. Diaz has always gotten by off connections. And Drew is a frickin' Barrymore.
It has nothing to do with talent except in the case of Meryl, Reese and Sandra. The rest are specifically typecasted to their personalities. They aren't able to act but merely follow directions.
They sell movie tickets to people who don't want to think; Weird Al Yankovich sells CD. Big effin deal.

45This HAS nothing to do with talent. This list is the MOST money generated by the actors. Angie should be at #1 since she is the highest paid actor in HW and all the rags that follow her every move, that generates mega money. Jennifer is #2 due to the residuals she gets from "Friends" playing over and over and that drinking water endorsment plus the rags. All of the other entries are due to movies and magazines. No talent involved.
