The Jolie-Pitts were looking very excited as they headed out for a quick romantic trip to Spain this weekend. It's nice to see they were able to take a break from the kids to just enjoy each other. Not all things were good for the Jolie-Pitts over the weekend. A Mighty Heart took in just $4 million at the box office, coming in at the number 10 spot. While the reviews were creating Oscar buzz for Angelina, my guess is the subject matter was a little too much to take in for the first official weekend of summer. Perhaps if the film was released at a later date it would have scored big.

why ruin the day with this picture?
1Well, I'm glad to see them get some alone time. As for the Mighty Heart I think it's too heavy for a summer movie. I will watch though on dvd, I must say.
2Good to see her in something other than black!
3Hopefully he took her out and made her eat.
4ljay i hope so too she needs to eat some good mexican food some hand made tortillas
5lol whatever she ate I'm sure they worked off
6Angelina will come back very very skinny.. who wouldnt with Brad "The Sex Machine"
7It's great that they are having alone time away from the kiddies, brad sure looks happy and angie looks great as always.
8as for AMH i think that was to be expected, the budget is less that $15m, so a 4m take in three days is ok, the message of the film is more important that the BO take.......
eww why would he want to work that off with skeletor i would be scared to break her eww nothing to grab
9I dont see the scary veins. Yay Angie!!!
10LOL caterina, i'm sure they did.....
11Does Brad change his clothes? Too bad their movie was a flop this weekend.
12Yeah these two are very boring dressers
13it was expected to be a flop, theres a good story behind it though thats all i can say positive
14I dont think they are together just "to hold hands"...
15obviously they are together too do more than hust hold hands, but its still gross
16Boring dressers? LOL!!! What is he supposed to wear? A skirt? Sorry, just thought that was a funny comment, not trying to be mean.
17I wouldn't consider it a flop at all. It didn't open in that many theaters and it was only made for 15 million dollars anyway. It was an arty movie and it seems the major audience for it was women over 30. You aren't going to get younger people looking for a fun summer movie. It'll make the money back. I think it will be re-released in the fall most likely as well.
Anyway I'm glad they had some sexy time alone in Spain for the weekend.
18The movie was supposed to show the strength in someone who has lost their husband (while pregnant) but could forgive..alas "A Mighty Heart"..but for me...I'm afraid if you decapitate my spouce's head, you have made an enemy for life..don't look for any forgivness here.
19haha Pink, shouldn't you be in Paris, stopping someone's wedding?
20they deserve a vacation. so cute!
21Love her bag!
22oh well... gross or not, I wish them a really good time
23That is the reaction the terrorist want. Like Marianne said. She's not terrorized. Her view on things is amazing to me. I'm not sure I could feel the same way.
24every web site is calling it a FLOP..it finished 10th out of 11 at the box office..The Blair WITCH PROJECT was made for $60,000 and grossed $248,639,099..with NO big story line, NO big stars, NO big name director or producer, and no globe trotting promotions. LOL Oh well..just saying...I guess it takes more to make a blockbuster than big names.
25I dunno, Brad always seems to be wearing the same colors. He needs to be more coloful. And I think he'd be hot in a skirt!! Just kidding. Angie's boring fashion sense is starting to take an effect on Brad.
26yeah catrina i flying out on 07/06/07 to stop that damn wedding thank you spitfire
27I dont think the point of the movie is to be #1 in the box office
28yeah it was just not said, if that was the case angie would not have played the role
29Artsy? It was classified as a drama based in a true story.
30I don't think you can compare The Blair Witch Project with Mighty Heart....again, teens will go see anything scary, this is a completely different kind of movie.
31Put AMH in perspective.. it was a limited release.. I saw it on Sat at the local megaplex, it was playing in one theater and only had 4 showings for the whole day. In comparison to Fantastic Four, 1408, Evan Almighty which playing hourly.
It was a released in 1300 theaters.. and earned $4 mil in 3 days.. compare that to a movie like um..
Friends With Money another small indie film with positive buzz.. it was released in 995 theaters and earned only 1.4 mil after 15 days.
And that was a dram-edy not a dark subject manner like AMH..
I think they did fine for a limited release heavy subject matter movie released in the middle of popcorn season.. which stars a contoversal actress that has the irrational hatred of teeny boppers and the mini van clan.. that buy Life&Style and hang on every word..
those
people would rather see Evan Almighty..that is more their intellectual speed.
AMH appeals to a rapidly shrinking demographic.. people who believe there is more than one side to any story, people who believe in unifying instead of dividing. People who beleive in forgiveness instead of the emotions that fuel terrorist acts..
that was the message of the film.. so in a way..it was almost created to fail.. so few people beleive in that message these days.
32jmast i think she was proving a point regrdless of whatever movie you want to compare AMH too, it was a flop it didnt make money so thats called a flop movie, whatever i might watch it when it comes out on dvd, and only because of the story behind it and believe me not because of angie
33I remember "Beyond Borders", with Angelina Jolie & Clive Owen, I thought it was really good movie that was going to bring awareness. Well, it didnt made much in the box office. First, kids could not see it, second, there are lot of people that really didnt care about the plot. Go figure.
34so if it was only showing 4 times dont you think the movie theatre wouldve been packed people standing against the wall just to watch
35They look genuinely happy together...but in the world of comments, that doesn't amount to much!!! As for "A Mighty Heart"...I wouldn't call it a flop. Heck, by Hollywood standards just about anything that doesn't make $85 million during it's opening is a flop. Although Jolie is a popular actress, the subject matter is very heavy and people don't see films like that in the theater. See...Hotel Rwanda and Last King of Scotland. Films of this sort, just don't perform well. No matter the people behind it.
PS: Last time I check, Spain didn't offer foods of the "Mexican" variety!!!
36I think they look great. She looks chic casual, and he looks like he's chillin. I love the look---they seem really normal to me.(which is something I never thought I'd say in reference to Angelia Jolie)
37well rumor has it floped as did friends with money, many films flop even thought they have big stars, drew barrymore's last film was not even in the top 10..... jonny dept had a flop recently....and the good german by george cloony has possibly the worse BO record for a film with a big name.....so.......
38and Tiabia, those films, on my perspective, were really good.
39Yours, Mine and the Academy!!! But of course, we can all look to "Fantastic Four" because you know that was a sure fire "hit"!!!
40I have yet to see a very poilitcally charged or post 9/11 movie do well at the box office, I could be wrong but nothing really comes to mind so I'm not really surprised by it
41My bf cant wait to see "Transformers", I cant wait to see "A mighty heart"
42they look so happy! good for them.
43I know Angie wanted it and thought it would do better than it did...she's never pushed a movie more than this one..even her Laura Croft Tom Raider movies, she showed up like she just woke up and messed up hair..even admitted she really didn't want to be there...when asked about how she thought AMH would do at the box office..she smiled and said she was excited to find out and that she "lived with the producer" and would hear how well it did first hand...
1355 theaters...
44Blind Items...I Guess...You Guess
From Ted Casablanca:
Some people love Fake-à-la Ferocity...the rest live to hate her. This do-it-all diva, known to dabble in everything from fab sex to fabber shoes, has her hand in purty much everything these days. Endorsements. Charitable endeavors. Entertainment projects. You name it. And all the wowin' while, Fake-à-la manages to look super-duper delish in the process.
Well, she used to, at least.
Lately, F2's once enviable bod has changed for the worse. And her hunky man isn't the only person concerned about the once divinely gifted babe. Nope, now a very few inside Industry types are also concerned 'bout our gal Fakey.
See, F.F. has enjoyed a fairly good reputation in the media and rags...until recently. She's known for being accessible, candid and honest. How very friggin' heretical here in lip-cemented T-town! Apparently, Ms. Ef's hiding one helluva secret. And I'm the b*tch to fill ya in on what, exactly, it is that has those select few Hollywood movers 'n' shakers so shaking in their Prada wear, regarding Fakey. She's got what's known as...a heroin habit.
Well, she's hardly the first dame in this drug-infested enclave to fall down that slippery alley, right? It's just, uh, so damn rich to find this out, knowing how utterly benevolent our do-goodin' broad happens to be as of late.
HEROIN!!!!!????!!!!! Can it be true!? Oh sh*t, it's on. I'm sorry to all the commenters that will soon feel the crazy wrath of the "you know whos." They sent me a few lovely e-mails yesterday, so I feel your pain. United we stand!
PS - His blind items give me a headache!

* From Ted Casablanca's column
A mighty heart thought they would get an easy ride because of brad and jolie i'm sure. The pr of this movie has been turned upside down because of that tyrant article by fox. She's also getting a lot of negative comments for playing a black lady (marine pearl herself is also getting a lot of heay criticism for having chosen jolie by black journalists). It's a real shame because this film has a good message. I saw le vie en rose last night (perhaps spelt wrong here so sorry). IT IS SO WONDERFUL. I highly recommend it to everyone. My god edith pilaf has had it tough. I hope this film will get an oscar nod.
46Good for them! They deserve a vacation and some quality time alone.
47of course tibia spain wouldnt have mexican food i said she needs to eat mexican food to gain some weight, hello
48United 93 opened at about 12 million..
49AMH was not made to be a blockbuster. AJ even said on Larry King that no-one involved w/ the movie cared if it made any money at all. The point is to bring awareness to the subject matter. The majority of folks who go see movies in the summer are kids who are out of school & the parents of those kids. I highly doubt that a gaggle of 12 year olds would be interested in the subject matter. :disclaimer: Obv. not EVERYONE who goes to movies inthe summer is a kid or a parent.
50I will always love guys who rock the short sleeved t-shirt over the long sleeved shirt
