What crappy music is out there if he is still #1? Heprobably has his mommybuying his cd's. JK.. He looks much better dressed as an adult than in matching outfits with his group.

I think the new CD is pretty good. The first seven songs really do channel Prince ,David Bowie, and yes, even Michael Jackson. The last 5 songs are too standard radio issue fluff for me.
I try to have an open mind when listening to some of the newer stuff--especially the music out there that uses some sampling. I am a trained clasical musician and I happen to really like most of the stuff Timbaland works on ( Justin's CD is a good example). The one thing I really didn't like about the new CD is the photos in the linear notes. They don't look very professional at all. Looks like someone threw the thing together in their basement...or that it was done by an amateur at a community college.

So the cd is unoriginal then? Big surprise on the similarities to MJ.

Sampling is not stealing . You have to have the original artists legal consent.

I think the vocals SOUND like Prince , etc... Most songs seem original to me. Timbaland uses a lot of new agey sounds ( give a listen to Missy Elliot) ...and also uses some strings and mild operatic, low bass accompaniement, etc... I like crossing up genres in my music. Some people think it's too chaotic on the ears...but not me.

BUT, I guess you can't please everyone. I'm just saying if you're thinking about buying it, it's certainly not the WORST I've ever heard.And I'm not a JT junky. I don't regret the $10 I spent on the CD.

That's true, you do need the artists permission to sample their song, and I respect Prince, bc I heard he doesn't allow people to "borrow" his music. I don't blame him. It seems like no one is original anymore. Plus, look what happens when someone else takes your song. Vanilla Ice smapled Queen's Under Pressure, and now (admit it!) everytime you hear DUN DUN DUN DUN DE DUN DUN you think ICE ICE BABY TOO COLD TOO COLD, not UNDER PRESSURE! BE ORIGINAL PEOPLE!
