Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale were both decked out in their 80s fashion on the set of The Fighter in Massachusetts yesterday. Mark's bloody face and bruises are already living up to the movie's title, though it's Christian who looks a little worse for the wear. Bale is known for the transformations he makes for movies and this time he appears to have dropped a noticeable amount of weight already to play a boxer who becomes a drug addict. Mark and Christian weren't the first pair of actors attached to the film, but after all the leading man musical chairs The Fighter is finally rolling.

christian really does get into his roles. didn't he drop an INSANE amount of weight for one of his roles all those years ago? i don't know how actors do it..it has to be hard.
anyway, i love this pairing even if i'm not into the topic of the movie.
1yes, he lost an immense amount of weight for his role in 'the machinist' a few years ago. he looked terrible in that film. i don't know how they do it...

7Losing tons of weight does not equate you automatically as a great actor.

13Christian Bale is a brilliant actor with an amazing body of work! I have enjoyed everysingle movie he has been in since being a child actor! There is no one like him, or ever will be! I have nothing but respect fot his God given talent, he is humble, and not a media hound!

17OK I can't stand this abusive and disrespectful man (Bale), &another blog said watch for it -- his acting is mediocore unless he loses tons of weight....So this means he'll get back his "mojo"? Someone who loses themselves over a stupid character has character flaws themselves in my opinion. i heard his little daughter was afraid when he used his southern accent during his last film but he still refused to stop using it even when the cameras were off. That is not my definition of a good actor its my definition of a wacko.
