Actually, Jessica Alba's father is Mexican American. And Harry Morton who opened the shop is American. And since when does one have to be Mexican to enjoy a taco????? I would think that nobody should have shown up at this opening if that was the case...especially Kristin Cavallari!

I think her sentiments are honest and common.

Lots of part-Latina entertainers are in that position. Some milk it like Christina Aguilera, perhaps due to a genuine desire to learn about their culture though it seems odd, especially since her father was abusive and wasn't around for most of her life.

Considering that Jessica Alba's grandparents made a conscious effort to assimilate and lose their culture (and you can assimilate without losing your culture), why would she --2 generations later-- feel connected to that culture??

Tacos in America are very American. Mexican tacos are very different and delicious.

I would never had made the connection actually. I associate tacos with chihuahuas, Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton.
