Jessica Simpson looked stunning on her way to dinner at Angelini in LA this weekend, but good looks are not going to guarantee her a stellar movie career. The wannabe-actress got herself in shape to concentrate on her latest flick, but bad news just surfaced regarding her summer release, Blonde Ambition. Word is the release date has been pushed back again. The Gatecrasher reports:
Sources say her manager dad has pushed back the release date twice because the movie is no good.
"First, the release date was set for Aug. 3, and then it was delayed until the last week of August," says an insider. "Papa Joe then intervened and said he wasn't comfortable with the level of competition from other films that month."
Another source says: "Jessica was not very focused on-set and flubbed her lines often. She always had her dog around, was on the phone with [then-] boyfriend John Mayer or was sitting in a warmed-up SUV."
This is not the kind of press Jessica needs when she wants to be seen as an actress and not just a singer. At least she has her fashion lines, new perfume and who knows what else to attach her name to in order to keep herself relevant.

This is the first time I really like her look. She normally has no sense of style, but everything looks great here - the top, the jeans, the bag, the shoes, the hair, the make-up. Way to go! At least she does the "being pretty" very well, that's more than you can say about Brit & co.

31I agree dh, new management woud be good for her. Her dad got her noticed, but she has never done any worthy piece of work besides confuse chicken and tuna. She is not someone that is going to carry a movie, she needs a lot of supporting roles before she could ever get anything more. I really do not see her career blossoming anytime soon. 36I don't think her acting is THAT bad. She needs better scripts and smaller roles. She should work her way into headlining. I think she's a talented girl. No Meryl Streep acting-wise, or even Celine Dion singing-wise, but she is talented, charismatic, and good in front of people.

I think she looks good here, but I certainly am nowhere near swooning, I do not think her looks will get her anywhere past where she is today, which is basically just a personality. She is not even talented enough for me to call her an actress or a singer. I think she should really throw in the towel in serious acting now, or just become a spoof-er like Carmrn Electra.
