The cast of Grey's Anatomy was back to work on set in LA yesterday. The group was filming a funeral scene for George O'Malley who everyone knows is off the show especially after his dramatic EW cover last week. Fresh off a successful weekend at the box office, Katherine Heigl was back in the thick of playing Izzie Stevens as a cancer survivor. Despite the grueling 17-hour days, Katherine looked happy to be back with all her costars. Ellen Pompeo's baby bump is going to be impossible to ignore when the show is back in the Fall and she looked perfectly cute in her tight black dress as she and Katherine were engrossed in their phones between takes. It wasn't all about the women however — Justin Chambers and Patrick Dempsey also acted in the scenes to pay their respects to George.

maybe they'll take the same approach as HIMYM by only shooting Alyson Hannigan from the chest up when she was expecting...
1I think it will be a combo of shooting from the waist up, and having Meredith carry random stuff. I expect to see her carrying a very large flower arrangement into the funeral
2well i guess they scrapped the idea of bringing someone else in to play george's role. oh well...so sad. anyway, ellen's bump really is big, i hope that they are able to shoot her scenes so that we don't even think about it. that's always a challenge when it comes to not writing a pregnancy into the script.
3Ellen looks so good pregnant! I'm jealous.
4George
5I mean we all knew there was going to be a funeral.... But I HATE seeing on set shots of TV shows and movies. Ruins them. Uggh
