Jessica Simpson is on the cover of September's Glamour, and inside the magazine she opens up all about her past loves and her optimism for the future. The interview was conducted before her split from Tony, but Jess addresses the fact their relationship might not make it to the print date. While she's promoting her lingerie line again, she also discussed her new show The Price of Beauty. She said:
- On her life experiences: "I don’t regret anything I’ve gone through. All of them have defined me as a person. If anything, I believe they were preparing me for the one I’m going to spend the rest of my life with."
- On Tony: "I don’t know what the future holds, but I hope that my life, as it is now, doesn’t change. I’m very happy and comfortable — it’s a great place to be in. If this article comes out and we’re not together, I’d still love him, and he’d still be a huge part of who I am today."
- On remarriage: "It was hard to imagine I would ever walk down the aisle again. It was like a death in the family: you go through the mourning stage, then the rebellion, and then all of a sudden you have to find life by yourself. Once you do that, you feel complete — and that’s the only time you can truly fall in love again, and give yourself over completely to another person. . . I loved everything about marriage. I loved having a companion to wake up with and have barbecues with. But things happen and people grow apart. I don’t really ever talk about the divorce because it was a heart-wrenching thing to go through. It’s a very, very personal thing."

Glamour certainly isn't supporting Jessica's claim to be happy with her size when it's photoshopping the life out of her. She looks fine as she is, why the need to make her the size of a pencil?

3Ugh...this makes me reeeeeeeeally not like her. I read the article on the glamour site. It makes me think that the break up happened well before her birthday, but it was announced then so that he'd be the jerk & she'd be the one with the sympathy.
4Jess sounds super smart during in this interview. Like real smart. Audrey maybe they were having problems at that time but not broken up yet, which is why she said that.
5She and Aniston should take the rest of the year off and not talk to the media or pose for covers...make us want to read about them and maybe the same ol' topics they both cover will seem fresh again....

Perhaps she learned from that mistake or perhaps there was already trouble in paradise at the time she gave this interview.
Whatever the case, I'm actually impressed by her quote

Facing a divorce myself is what made this stand out to me.
8Hmmm it looks like they were having problems at the time of this interview. Anyway it seems her divorce affected her a little bit, just like everybody else, but she seems fine. Honestly Tony seems like a player, he was hot though, but probably not marriage material.

11After this interview and 2 weeks before their breakup, HE was still telling People Mag how much they cared for each other and wanted to spend time together. Things don't always work out like we'd like but GEEZ.....why is it always the woman's fault when a guy acts like a turd? SHE sounds and has acted grounded and very mature.

18The 2 things I love about Jessica is that she's pretty and honest. She always says what she thinks and directly not driving around or talking fake like others. Like if she loves Tony, then she says it. Sometimes what she said too much about him makes others think that she's the slave relationship but she doesn't care what others may criticize her for that. If She wants to go public with him, then she makes it happen even if it might backfire her later. She can also laugh at herself. That's a good thing and that impresses me.

22redchick i agree, i think she is ready for a more serious commitment like marriage but tony isn't, he is still the partying type of guy...so they split. she definitely handles the breakup with MORE CLASS than him. partying with girls on her birthday weekend sure made him look like a jerk!

25how ominous. anyway, i think that if you're in a relationship with someone and you're doing an interview for a magazine - you kind of have to put it out there that you never know what will happen at press time. i think that given what we know about tony right now - he's not going to be america's sweetheart QB anymore - but that's his own fault. i can see the team jess shirts coming out - and i wouldn't have said that a while ago.

28I am glad Jess and Tony are over no matter who dumped who because she wasn't happy with him who wasn't serious with her and their relationship. She gave him too much respects and comforts so that he didn't want to leave her. That was all. He never wanted to have a marriage with her or anyone else so it wasn't her fault. If she kept him for a longer time, then she will regret later coz he will waste more time of hers. She should have seen it earlier then dumped him off and moved on and probably is married with kids by now. Though it's been printed everywhere that Tony dumped Jess but I definitely doubt it. Jess has been looking good and super-happy these days and has handled the breakup in a very classy way especially in this interview, so it really makes me think that the dumper isn't Tony. It's the other way around. Maybe they've had problems for so long and Jess didn't want to open her mouth to say it first, so Tony said it first, then it was it. Anyone in a relaitonship should know that you don't have to say "I dump You" in order to be the dumper right? U just stop caring and stop working on the relationship and let it hanging until the other open their mouth, then it is stopped completely without making you look like a BS.
29I was there before so I know it very well. When I realized I didn't love that person anymore and didn't want to continue with the relationship, instead of saying it to his face, I withrew myself and stopped doing everything that I used to do for the relationship. In the meantime, I moved on by looking for another guy and another relationship. When my ex sensed something was wrong, he called me that he dumped me and spreaded around that he dumped me and everyone was laughing at him coz they already knew that I dumped him and alrealy moved on with another person. I was very proud of myself for that coz I didn't have to be the bad guy and could quietly and peacefully move on. Until now (6 years later), my ex still talks sh.t about me though he's already married. What a BS!!! I feel extremely sorry for his wife for marrying that guy.

30I LOVE JESSICA SIMPSON! I'm 22 years old and have been a huge fan of hers before she was that well known - for at least 10 years. When she first started dating Nick, nobody knew who she was. She is so lovely though. I think pictures speak a thousand words and she has SUCH a sweet, kind, caring looking face. I think she is a very sensitive person who has such good intentions and I don't know how anyone can dislike her. Even with her drop dead gorgeous looks she is totally lovable. I wish her all the best and hope she finds the man of her dreams because she certainly deserves it. She is so classy and the best role model for all young girls. A Christian too. I think she is awesome!
31A role model?? Don't you remember that she hooked up with other guys while she was still married? Also, she has dated and slept with some of the biggest players, including John Mayer and Adam Levine. She doesn't make wise choices when it comes to men, and she moves in with them right away when the relationship has barely had the time to develop. She needs to grow up.
