The extravagant and endless Eva and Tony wedding seems to have come to a close with a fireworks celebration at a 17th century castle following a lavish ceremony in a church in front of 250 guests. Celebs like Jessica Alba, Mario Lopez, Sheryl Crow and of course the Desperate Housewives were in attendance. Teri Hatcher brought her daughter as her date while her ex, Ryan Seacrest, arrived arm-in-arm with a new blonde. Since Tony and Eva are banking $2 mil on the wedding shots (supposedly including honeymoon images as well - how not romantic) it's no surprise the couple gave themselves some sweet bling. They seem to be generous as they also gave their guests some incredible gifts. Here's more:
Longoria, 32, and Parker, 25, wore Piaget Possession wedding rings. The Desperate Housewives star's band was made from 18K white gold with two rows of 80 brilliant-cut diamonds. These were separated by a row of 27 square-cut diamonds, for a total of 107 jewels. Parker's ring matched his wife's 18K white gold but was not decorated with stones. They each had a special inscription, in French, etched into the inside of the gold ring.
Meanwhile, all the women guests at the wedding were given bracelets from Van Cleef & Arpels' Sweet Alhambra range. The bracelets are 18K yellow gold on a delicate chain. They each had a miniature mother-of-pearl clover charm and the French jeweler said they are "sure to bring good luck."

At least they put their guests on buses to the reception, an hour away, rather than a fleet of private limos. (Not that I'm defending this overblown event... just saying.)

The girl in the red dress is Karina Smirnoff. And yes, it was revealing (from the front and the back) for church, but the costumes those dancers wear are crazy, so I'm guessing for her it's not that big of a deal?

48Over the top? I think this was relatively dignified compared to: Donald & Melania Trump (could anything be more over the top and conspicuous consumption than theirs?). Liz Hurley, the 'Brangelina' of India, Christitna Aguilera, Michael Douglas & Catherine Zeta Jones, Star Jones, Brad Pitt & Jennifer Aniston, Tori Spelling 2X, etc.
I think the Longoria/Parker wedding took place over 2-3 days -- one of those days would have been eliminated except that French law required a civil a well as a religious ceremony.
As for being tired of their nuptials, the blogs and tabloids only have yourselves to blame. Wasn't there other news that could have been covered besides stretching whatever wedding news there was?
You could have covered the Live Earth concerts more -- done personal profiles of the actors & musicians and how they've become more ecologial, and how much more they have go. You could have asked why they thougbt this issue was important, if they had personally been affected or knew others who were affected.
You could have done educational sidebars summarizing the problem so that young people who don't think global warming exists or that humans don't cause global warming get their facts straight. You could have made a list of simple steps each person could start with to stop global warming. You could have made a sidebar of links. There are lots of useful things tabloids & blogs could have done. Too bad they chose to focus on Eva's & Tony's wedding to sell more magazines, and then complain that it took too long.

I understand what you're saying, but that's why the world has so many different media genres and outlets for gaining information and of being entertained. The magazines and websites that focused so much attention on the Longoria/Parker wedding were mainly entertainment magazines, and at the least it was probably found in the entertainment pages of the larger national news papers. If you want to be educated or to find information on Live Earth and it's participants, then you can find that information on those media outlets that cater to that kind of info.
