Episode "The Long Morrow"

The seventh-season opener picks up where the last one ended, with Lorelai in bed with Christopher the morning after her argument with Luke. Now she faces the reality of her impulsive act and her belief that the engagement is over. She spends time with Rory, who is puzzled by a mysterious gift that Logan left her. Meanwhile, Taylor has a red-light camera installed in front of the diner, which leads to an accident that angers the already agitated Luke. (From TV Guide)

What happened:
Lorelai tells Rory that her and Luke are over but doesn't tell her why. Luke tries to talk to Lorelai with no luck. Logan leaves Rory a metal rocket as a gift.

During Taylor's red-light camera installation ceremony, Kirk demonstrates how the light works, gets blinded by the camera flash and drives the car directly into Luke's diner.

Rory finally figures out what the rocket means (see blog below) and decides she wants to go to London for the summer and calls Logan. Logan already made plans for her to come to London - but not until Christmas.

Luke stops by Lorelai's again and is ready to drive off and elope - right now. Lorelai says its over and tells him she slept with Christopher. Luke doesn't say a word and drives off.
