Marie Antoinette was warmly received in LA last night after being booed at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. More importantly, however, Kirsten Dunst was looking way better last night than she has been lately. The screening was sponsored by Chanel at the Chateau Marmont. Sofia looked stunning as usual in a Chanel Spring '07 pleated chiffon dress while Kirsten cleaned up well in her Christian LaCroix halter gown.

Here is the latest trailer for the movie, which looks excellent. I'm a fan of Sofia's films and this one looks great.

I don't really like Kirsten
she really does have the whole snaggletooth thing going...
ive never thought much of her...interview with a vampire was about the best thing she ever did...
I choose her if we do the messing up of a celeb's face avatar day.
hahah siouxsie... I think she actually looks pretty here!! For the first time in a long time.
she looks decent here. i dont like how that buckle thing is drawing attention to her hoo-ha area but shes making huge strides from those gramma socks from yesterday
i don't think she is ugly or anything..i just think there's nothing particularly great about her as an actress...
I've never really liked her as an actress. I feel her eyes look sleepy and kind of vacant. In Spider-Man 2, she was foggy-eyed through the whole thing.
Her hair is really stringy..she needs a lil shorter hair so it will look thicker..along with some vaniers (sp?)
She does look better, dare I say a bit like Cameron Diaz.
Lakey-thats not much better!
meh she looks eh ok
They really had to pile on the moisturizer, highlighters and bright blush to make her look alive, eh?
Her hair definately looks better shorter
I hate movies where the accents aren't consistent. Some people in that preview had French accents and some had English and Marie Antoinette herself had an American accent? Um, I don't think so. If some characters are going to have accents you should make all the actors learn the appropriate ones.
Kirsten looks better than usual at the premiere, but a shorter haircut would look so much more chic than her stringy extensions. And I'm fascinated with Sofia's hair. It's so plain and kind of blah, but she always wears it the same way so it seems like it's her trademark or something, which makes it seem iconic. That lipstick and eye makeup are not flattering, though.
Yay for the Rose McGowan mention & pics! I've loved Rose ever since "Scream"! She looks great!
Ewwww...hate the dress. Looks like a giant Hefty bag.
clepiau, I agree with you about the accents in the film....kirstens voice doesnt fit
i love how rose is pale...that is the normal color of her sjin mit isn't all fake and tanned.
i really want to see that movie.
WOW..look at Rose work that gold dress.. she may be the only person who could pull this look off. She looks amazing and very techno color
I liked the other preview, I saw better. I think this is going to be a good movie.
I don't usually like Kirsten's acting, but this movie looks really fun. LOVE the costumes!
I agree about the accents (Marie was Austrian, right? So shouldn't she sound like Arnold?). However, in this movie it is really stylized visually and with the music. I think proper accents would have turned it into more of a historically accurate movie, which it is really not aiming to be. It is stylized to make a artistic point. I will have to see it to figure out what that is!
No Marie was French Jillness.. she was the let them eat cake lady!!
wow, she actually looks quite aTTractive compared to her other pics. i like her with longer hair, hopefully i'll get a chance to watch the movie. nice to see she's controlling her 'vampire teeth'
sorry Jillness. she was not French.. she married Louis XVI.. my bad!! You were right.
No worries, ohsuri!
I got ahead of myself.. it will be interesting to hear any accent though. Is she that good of an actress.I don't l know much about her. Was she in Bring it or something!!!
I actually can't stand when they have people speaking with accents in American movies. Have them speak French if you want. But don't have actors pretending to be French people speaking English with a French accent. How is that more accurate when they wouldn't have been speaking English!? Sorry, its a pet peeve.
I hear you. I hate watching tv with my husband and a French accent is on. He is French so he rips into them. It is true why pretend to speak english when the person never would have?
LOL, ohsuri I forgot your hubs is French. I had to actually switch languages on Chocolat and listen to the French dub. It just annoys me.
That kinda like back in the old'n days, in all those spagetti westerns, they'd get white guys to play indians. What was wrong with hiring real natives to play those parts?
One good thing is when they say something he will tell me before they tell me. But.. he is VERY anti pretend French people.
LOL @ anti pretend French people. I love it. My hubs is very anti pretend soldiers. Well, the ones who don't get it right anyhow.
I hear you Tor! And like Charlie Chan. He wasn't even Chinese!?
My husband is a very proud Frenchman. I agree with your husband. Like when you see someone pretending to be a solider and you know dam well they could not even handle one day of camp. Aggghhhh let me think of some of them!!
"anti pretend French people." LOL!
I usually don't mind accents, accurate or not, as long as they are consistent. I'm fine with accents that represent a language (we don't all speak Frech after all and it's an American movie) but you can't have the wrong language AND MULTIPLE MISMATCHED wrong accents. That's just...wrong.
Hahah Jillness. When someone complained about accents I was wondering why she didn't just talk like Arnie!
I love the costumes, I'd watch it just for that!
Kirsten looks beautiful! I think blonde suites her best.
I think she looks great here...I love the long hair, too, and the color is gorgeous on her.
Ugh, Kristin and her crooked Chicklet teeth.
Wow, it must be bedtime. I meant KIRSTEN.
Her teeth freak me out.
she seems like a cold person, not very approachable, dont like her
Kirsten is cute, Rose is beautiful.
i agree with the accent thing. this is the same thing that bothered me about Memoirs of a Geisha. Some had american accents, some had asian accents, none matched up at all and that totally bugged me.
Well, at least the hair id fine.
is*
I have to say that the inconsistent accents don't bother me. Its the most logical thing to do if you have a cast that come from different places and you refuse to do the film in the language of its setting. Why give someone an American accent when they're actually Japanese and are playing a Japanese person who wouldn't be speaking English? It makes more sense to have everybody just speak the way they speak.
BTW, I was trying to resist saying anything nice about Miss Fugnst up there, but she actually looks really good. *shudders*
Agreed, and Kiki snaggletooth is hedious
Didn't she have an accent in "Interview with a vampire?"
I hate period pieces with modern music! Drives me crazy!
