Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner cover the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly as they continue promoting the much-anticipated New Moon. Kristen talks about her BFF chemistry with Taylor, while Robert Pattinson chats about his feelings on downsizing Edward's role, which already has most of you wanting more. Here's more:
- Kristen on Taylor keeping his role as Jacob: "It’s completely understandable why they wanted to make sure he was right. He was so young, 16, so I got it. But I knew he had [to do] it. Just because of how I felt around him. We have that [best friend] relationship. It’s lamely cute."
- Taylor on beefing up: "My body fat got so low that we actually needed to increase it a little bit. My trainer would be like, ‘Go have a huge milk shake just so I can get a thousand calories into your body.""
- Robert on his downsized role: "It was a stress-free job for three months. All the pressure was on Taylor."
- Kristen on New Moon: "[Making Twilight] was much more of a fight. We needed to make something commercial but stay true to the book. We didn’t have enough money. It was all very impulsive, and that’s what I love about that movie . . . But I think New Moon is gonna be even better."

well we all know that RP wanted to make sure that he was 'present' in new moon more than the book wanted so he can't necessarily say that it was a breeze but it's nice for him i guess to have a bit of the stress taken off of him.
i still can't wait to see the new movie!

8They didn't "downsize his role." They actually made his role bigger because fans screamed for more Edward. He didn't want it, it was a decision made to accommodate overzealous fans who for some reason wanted to deviate from the book.
Saying his role was "downsized" is just flat out inaccurate.

Kris and Taylor are like friends....no comparison with Rob and Kristen....there are true feeling and real chemistry between them! Taylor's promotion sucks!
13I am glad they are not revealing any Bella/ Edward moments for New Moon so that when the movie comes out it will be so much more. I will always be team Edward.
14I feel like all the girls who are obsessed with Edward/Robert are going to hate New Moon because of his small role. Of course it makes sense that the cover is Taylor and Kristen, Robert's character is barley even in New Moon. Lilly22 did you read New Moon? If so it should be pretty easy to understand that they are pushing the Bella/Jacob relationship.

23Taylor is actually the only one who is the actual age of the characters from the book so I think that he looks young is fitting. I am a big Edward and Bella fan and HATED Jacob in the books but seeing Taylor play the part gives me a bit of a soft spot for Jacob now.
24SO BOTTOM LINE- I am TEAM EDWARD but lets face it people we had to get through reading NEW MOON to get to the happy ended of EDWARD and BELLA together again so same goes for the movie.

I'm not saying anything negative about Taylor Lautner but as long as Robert Pattinson is attached to this project, no one else can steal the spotlight from him... That's a fact!
I see no competition at all...
It will not be hard to make a better movie than Twilight- now that I've read the books I'm surprised that more twi-people weren't really irritated at how sub- par it was. Another thing I noticed was that the book is funny! It has some dark jokes and general silliness that was valuable but completely left out of the movie. I haven't read the others yet though. They're really simple but they'er pretty cute.
27Its clear that the people hating the bella/jake kris/taylor , haven't read new moon. I'm actually glad they're doing this and not using rfugz for every cover even though he's not even in the second book that much.
I'm sure we'll get kstew/rpatz covers as well as covers with the 3 of them.

28Oh, please, it's so boring without Rob! Taylor could never out shine Rob. It was excruciating reading NM, & like the book it be excruciating waiting. I'm bored already with this promotion. Okay, Tay put on weight gained some muscle; Team Jacob & some Twigirls act like they have never seen muscles before, probably haven't. Taylor is okay, that's all he has, boring! Basket ball players have more muscles if that's all you're looking for. Yawn, wake me when Alice shows up.

34The promotion for New Moon may be making people unhappy as it's more Kristen/Taylor oriented, but then again so is the book.
I'm glad they are promoted the movie based more on the book then what fans want, they have to try and keep it as close as possible and this is the only way. The fans who are unhappy because it has less Rob need to read or reread the book and realize that the whole series is not all about Bella and Edward.
35I don't get why people think Taylor is so hot. But I guess younger girls like him better because he is such a boyish boy. I mean he is basically a boy on protein. Can't wait for some of my Rob though. And I actually think Kristen and Taylor has the right chemestry. She talks to him like he is her little brother! Robsten is just HOT!

38There is no replacing Rob. You wait and see. If summit keeps it up, they will be digging themselves a very deep hole they won't be able to get out of. No Rob, no Twilight. He is one of the reasons why it's so successful. I had heard alot and I mean alot of people say they would not even have bothered to watch Twilight the second time without Rob. They even added more scenes because the fans asked for it. Please, without Rob, New Moon would never have made it to the theatres.

"New Moon" seems to focus much more on Jacob and Bella relation but still, the whole book is all about Edward and Bella...
Try to see the big picture:
Edward leaves... she suffers...Bella and Jacob become good friends... they get closer... Jacob falls in love with Bella...etc.
At the end all these things lead to just one thing; she can not live without Edward.
If she didn't experienced all those things she would never know what its like to live without Edward.
The events that got Jacob and Bella closer are the same ones that made Bella inseperable from Edward.
So, actually "New Moon" is all about Edward and Bella... just like in the other books.

43I seriously can't stand Taylor (not Jake, the character, I'm okay with him, it's the ACTOR I can't stand), but at least Kristen (who's really grown on me) known what the movie is truly about. With her, Rob and Chris (the new director) I'm sure New Moon'll be good. I know Edward's not supposed to be in the movie much, but I'm sure gonna miss him. At least they included they whole "hallucination" thing. Poor Rob, he was so looking forward to being absent and all, and they STILL found a way to put him in there.
Oh, and to Taylor: PLEASE talk about something else other than your muscles.. or the whole "love-triangle" crap which doesn't even EXIST in the first place!!

45Taylor can't hold a candle to Rob and never will. Rob has such a big fanbase now that even when the Twilight stuff is over, he will still have his fans supporting him. The Twilight movies are great, but that is not what is keeping Rob popular anymore.
46I agree sham28, I actually saw the movie first, liked it because of the story but felt it was a little "off", then got into the books and watched the movie again, and it was even worse then. I do, however, feel the actors fit their parts, so I really hope the series will get better as the pressure is off a little.
It was pretty disappointing to see many essential things lost from book to film, so I hope they get to repair that a little bit, like the light-hearted stuff you were talking about, and that they get deeper into Edward and Bella's relationship. I'm not really looking forward to New Moon much, though, as it already pained me to get through the pages with Jacob being there right into your face all.the.time. But I'm curious nevertheless, they should get a good shot at exploring Edward and Bella's relationship further.
47Oh yeah, and Taylor and Kristen do look like brother and sister. But that's the point, you already get the sense of their "incestuous" relationship in the books, so it should be even worse in the movie.
