American Idol auditions are underway and while we've already seen Victoria Beckham step in as a guest judge in two locations, the producers are looking to fill Paula's shoes with a series of female pop stars. Today Joe Simpson shot down rumors that Jessica was angling for a spot, but it got us thinking about some other ladies we'd like to see in the empty seat. Katy Perry is signed up with promises of more to come but tell us — who would you like to see on American Idol?

1Definitely either Christina or Britney. I don't even watch Idol, but I'd probably tune in just to see one of them guest judge.

I think we need an artist who is secure enough in herself/himself to guest judge, some of these people might start hating on the contestants like Kara did bikini girl.

19My first inclination was to ask if there was any other choices, but then again I don't care for the show so I could really care less. I can assure you I would not want to hear anything Carey has to say. Spears and Simpson do not come across as very intelligent to me. Aguilera might not be too bad though I still wouldn't watch.

Christina and Mariah are the only ones with vocal talent, and Christina hasn't been relevant for a VERY long time. So I pick Mariah.

23Actually, I don't think it should be a pop star. I think they should get a song writer. Some one who has written for other successful talent in the past. Jessica and Britney are in no way qualified to judge other singers. Christina and Gwen have the skill, but why the hell would they want to take the time away from their careers for that? Mariah Carey is twice the head case Paula was. Not going to work.
24Queen Latifah. Hands down the best option. Problem is, she doesn't really need the job.

it'd be an absolute treat to hear someone who really knows a lot about music and how to be a--not "good"--GREAT singer educating the world.
It'd also be a great promotional opportunity for the new album, and RCA-her label-works with American Idol and their winners are signed with their label group, so, though we don't know what Christina thinks of AI--it seems like something that actually could happen for a couple of episodes.
i don't want any of these guest judges. I want Paula back!

32Mariah's as ethnic as I am. And I'm not unless I tell you I am. So how does that help. Don't forget that both Paula and Christina are both biracial. Looking at them didn't help you know that though. Young ethnic talent needs someone they can identify with too. And what about Jessica, she's undercover ethnic too. *half stupidian.

35I dont watch Idol. But if Christina Aguilera was a judge, id tune in EVERY week. She is beyond talented and i think would be the most perfect candidate to offer tips and insight.
