The Scoop [1] is reporting the usual marriage problems and the birthday bash being a bust. I think the media just loves to tear them apart.

In a more interesting story, The Cincinnati Enquirer [2] is reporting the couple had a fabulous celebration. They reported how Lachey was in his hometown with a small get together including family and close friends. Jessica was by his side the entire night. They were at the Montgomery Inn at the Boathouse and the staff said:

Lachey had his arm around her during dinner, Gregory says. "They just seemed like a normal couple," Gregory says.

Lachey ate the Inn's famous ribs (the king slab, the largest portion), sweet potato and salad - yes, he wore a bib - and drank Miller Lites, Gregory says. Simpson, who had the pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato, salad and pinot grigio, picked up the $750 tab and left a $600 tip, all on her American Express card.

Sounds like Jessica and Nick are not only still in love, but she's a hell of a tipper. Thanks to Kari for the local scoop.
