Natalie Portman is glowing on the cover of the upcoming issue of Harper's Bazaar. The very lucky girl got to wear the same dress Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Natalie is often compared to Audrey, so it's really a perfect fit for the cover, and Natalie loved the time she spent in the icon's dress. Here's more:

“I did feel very elegant suddenly,” Portman tells the magazine. “I mean, you can’t possibly measure up to Audrey Hepburn; there’s no comparison. But the elegance that she exuded was transmitted to the dress, you know, the feeling, the emotion of it.”
The dress, one of three versions made for the 1961 movie, will be sold to the highest bidder on Dec. 5 at Christie’s auction house in London. It’s expected to fetch as much as $130,000.
“I was so nervous that I wasn’t going to fit,” Portman says. “Everyone kept telling me how small it was, and I’m not the type who can starve myself. I’m small, but it’s not like I’m see-through.”

Natalie looks faboir! There is nobody else in the world like Audrey Hepburn. Breakfast at Tiffany's is such a great movie. I wanna go watch it now.
Let's go Oakland!
1I really like Natalie! She's so cute! But, I agree OC - she's no Audrey. No one is.
2She certainly doesn't look like audrey hepburn she doesn't have her classe nor her attitude...She's just Natalie portman ,that's good but that's not Mrs hepburn..

'I wanna know God's thoughts,the rest r details..'
Natalie is one of the few people i will accept to wear the dress of the goddess as she is clearly being humble about it..as for Jennifer Love Hewitt...i about had an anuerysm when they cast her in that TV movie about Audrey...im still fuming about that one...
4I like Natalie. I just saw Closer and wow she was awesome in it.
5I'm glad to see she grew her hair back.
6omg jennifer love hewitt as audrey hepburn was the worst possible casting ever!
7I love Natalie. She's smart, beautiful, and classy
8if i were an a-list actress this is one thing i would refuse to do...imitate another, obviously iconic one. i understand that hepburn is an inspiration, but she was also a true original.
why do so many actresses feel the need to jump on this bandwagon. they should use the inspiration as that and incorporate it into their own look.
9thank you SanD..im glad someone else saw and was disgusted...most people have no idea what im talking about...
10Well, I'm sure that this was the magazine's idea, not Natalie's. As far as Natalie agreeing to do it, I don't have a problem with it at all. I don't really see it as imitating, I see it as paying homage.
11Jennifer Love Hewitt as ANYTHING is the worst possible casting ever. I never could stand her.
I saw the last couple minutes of her Audrey movie. I think I threw up in my mouth a little bit.
12Natalie looks so great back with her long hair.
13I'm probably one of the few people in America who doesn't care for Natalie Portman. She has a house on Long Island near my parents (Sea Cliff) and across the street from a high school friend, and the word is that she's not exactly the sweet girl everyone thinks she is.
14I like this cover, it looks wonderful! But as so many of you have already stated, NOBODY can compare to the lovely Audrey!
15Audrey Hepburn was an icon, a legend, a goddess. I love her.
16I loved Audrey Hepburn. Natalie Portman is a very classy actress, and a perfect pick to pay "homage" to Audrey.
17Audrey was incomparable. The cover is to bring awareness to the dress being auctioned while also spotlighting Natalie and of course creating buzz and conversation by combining the two.
Natalie is an extremely talented actress and Jennifer Love Hewitt must have blown someone high up to have landed that role or no one else must have wanted to touch the role with a 10 foot pole..
18I've never heard of Natalie being referred to as an "Audrey". I love Natalie and all, she is awesome. But Audrey is in a class of her own and I'm not sure anyone can compare. At least not in Hollywood today.
I'm also with those who were puzzled at the Jennifer Love Hewitt casting. "Let's take the person who looks and acts nothing like Audrey and make a movie about her! Brilliant!"
19Natalie looks gorgeous, as usual. She seems to be really intelligent and sweet. But alot of celebs aren't what they seem...
I'm glad she grew her hair back, although she didn't look too bad with it short.
20For the record, I just wanted to clarify that I was responding to the text in the post that said Natalie is often compared to Audrey. There's no comparison there, in my mind.
But, Natalie is a great pick to pay homage to Audrey, sure. I'm sure Audrey would love that. Yikes, they could have picked like Nicole Richie or one of the Olsons or Jennifer Love Hewitt. lol
21I think one day Natalie Portman may be a legend in her own right, as will Scarlett Johanssen, and Reese Witherspoon. I like to see the actresses of my generation aspire to be as great as the actresses of my mother and grandmother's time.
The only reason I think they chose Jennifer Love Hewitt to portray Audrey was because she had Audrey's frame and coloring. It definitely wasn't for her acting ability.
22She's beautiful, no doubt, but no resemblance to Audrey.
23coloring maybe..frame..hell no! j-love has major titties...audrey was a waif. i actually thought calista flockheart was more of a match in that regard...same level of acting ability as j-love and had her build at least and calista has a bit of an elfish look to her as well...
24JLH played Audrey Hepburn because she produced the TV movie. I'm not a big fan of NP--she seems too self-aware of herself for me.
25She looks beautiful on this cover, and i looove that dress... If i had $130,00 to spare i think i'd buy it... hehehe, better keep dreaming!
26beautiful
27aubray mwho?
Herbie...Did you really mean you don't know who Audrey Hepburn is?
I refuse to watch the JLH movie about my beloved Audrey, I am sad she ruined something I would have really enjoyed. I cant stand her!
28jlh blows!!!! but nat def looks magnificent!!!!!!she is truly one of the worlds most beautiful people
29Softrock-thats what I was going to say. She produced the movie and cast herself as Audrey. It wasn't something someone thought was good casting it was what JLH wanted to do.
30Lucky Natalie getting to wear one of the Breakfast at Tiffany's dresses!
Yeah, I guess if you produce a movie, you can hire whomever you want **cough jessica simpson/pimp daddy***
31I loved her in The Professional. I thought she sucked in V for Vendetta. She had the worst Brittish accent I had ever heard. I couldn't believe my ears. It was a great movie but everytime she spoke I cringed. Yikes.
32I'm glad people are talking about Audrey again. Audrey was so classy and tactful. I think she is the best example of who an actress should be like. Audrey was the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and visited poor countries to help orphaned children. She was such a wonderful person and I would give anything to have her posture! Even when I sit and stand straight I can't have it. I've started pilates because I heard that helped.

40nice wig. she looks gorgeous
41amazing cover!
42she looks beautiful.
43I can say that I do like Natalie Portman to a certian extent but she is not Audrey, and really no one is. I myself am a huge fan of Audrey but I would NEVER try to compare myself to her. Also considering Natalie has probably not even seen any of her movies other than Breakfast at Tiffany's,and not been within 100 feet of a biography, she shouldn't try to imatate her.
As far as the Audrey Hepburn Story goes, I really recomend you watch it, because if youre as much of a fan as me, you'll get some laughs out of seeing Jenifer Love Hewit butcher the role of Audrey. Oh, by the way, Jenifer Love Hewit produced this movie, thats why she was "chosen" for the role.
44I don't think anyone can ever be compared to Audrey and I think comparing celebs to her is just a marketing strategy to get Audrey fans to pay attention. I also don't think the rolls Natalie takes are similar to anything Audrey would take. She looks like her a little, but as a reporter said about Audrey,
"Audrey Hepburn looks like every girl and no girl" and that is totally true.
However I do like Natalie. And I suppose I'm just jealous she got to wear the original dress!
Yeah, as my friend Miss Golightly said, Jennifer Love Hewitt produced the movie and specifically cast herself as Audrey because she was itching to get into the Audrey clothing. I don't think she ever expected it to be successful, she was just being selfish. I don't think JLH will ever live down the mistake she made.
But half of the people who say they love Audrey Hepburn don't even bother to learn about her or nothing and that is pathetic.
