Adam Goldstein, aka DJ AM, was found dead today in his NYC apartment. TMZ reported the news that he was found this afternoon at 5:20 p.m. He was 36 years old.
Apparently his friends hadn't heard from him in days and when one went over to check on him, AM didn't answer the door. The friend called the cops, who entered the apartment and found his body. According to reports, there was drug paraphernalia found at the scene.
It was slightly under a year ago that he survived a plane crash with his friend Travis Barker on Sept. 19, 2008. This story is heartbreaking and we will keep you updated as details emerge. Our thoughts are with his friends and loved ones.

38The Final Destination comments aren't necessarily from the same person. Every blog I've seen this story on has people commenting on it. There is a new sequel to the movie opening today. The whole premise of the original is that a group of people who escape a plane crash go on to die one by one, shortly after, because fate meant for them to die and you can't cheat death.
Unfortunately if you're using drugs, your chances of dying young increase by multiples. Sad way to leave. It seems he was loved by many.

I am sad to hear this. But you know to survive such a horrific accident it is hard not to have Post Traumatic Stress from it. And with a history of self medicating it isn't too suprising but still utterly sad. I wish his family all the best.

Any time you have to look to a substance to to alter your emotional state it can become a problem and if that substance happens to be deadly and addictive well you see the end result.
Makes you wonder if he was freebasing on that airplane.

If you are in a plane crash and survive it mean you were mean't to live not die soon after. You did not cheat death...You create you own life. You still had things to do or you would have not survived.
Many people have survived plane crashed been gotten huge settlements from the airlines and lived happy lives. You want to watch a move that's good. Watch "Fearless" with Jeff Bridges. It based ona true story of people that survived and grew from the experience.
As far as DJ am...
He was fortunate and pissed all away. He had a cakewalk job, please DJ's push buttons and are way over paid. The play music that other people create and they get laid by stupid girls that think pushing a button is some form of talent. Have some self esteem ladies bang a rock star not a DJ.
So he had it made and obviously did not live in a state of gratitude and appreciation.

49There's more info on people.com. It says he just broke up with his girlfriend (her idea) and was having trouble dealing with that and the fact that he survived the plane crash when others died. Very sad.
