Donald Trump had quite a lot to say about Angelina Jolie on Larry King Live Monday night. In fact, he made it quite clear that he is not a fan. Sometimes I think he likes to say outrageous things just to get noticed. It's all part of him branding himself. Here's a Jolie highlight from his interview:
TRUMP: Well, look, number one, I know her father. Her father is a nice guy. I think she treats him like a dog but maybe they have some kind of a thing.
KING: Yes, why, he's a good guy?
TRUMP: I mean this poor sap he comes along and he practically begs her, "I want to see my grandson. I want to see this." I mean if I were with him, I'd say "Forget it. It's over."
KING: He's also a great actor, Jon Voight.
TRUMP: I think he's a great actor and she just treats him terribly. She's been with so many guys she makes me look like a baby, OK, with the other side. And, I just don't even find her attractive.... I'm not a fan of hers as you probably noticed.
Wow! Ouch. Doesn't look like Angie's going to be throwing any generous donations his way anytime soon. Not like he needs them. I doubt Angie will respond to Donald's comments. In other Trump words, he claims that Paris is "smart like a fox," Britney "is a mess," and K-Fed is "fantastic." Oh Donald, we think you may be somewhat out of touch with the young folk these days.

16I'm not qualified to speak about the inner-workings of the Voight-Jolie family, but Angie seems pretty cold to her dad. There are more gracious ways to not have someone in your life.

22I'm on Angelinas' side on this one. Others may say he's your father and you ought to make an effort but if someone has consistently let you done in your life it is too hard to let them back in. And while I don't like Paris at all, I can see why he would tink she was smart, through her money making ways, but there are all different types of intelligence thats for sure!

31I agree that Britney is an absolute mess, and I can maybe see what he meant about Paris being smart like a fox. I just don't understand how someone on the outside looking in can judge Jolie and her decision to distance herself from her father. The truth is none of us know what her relationship with him was like growing up, and are in no position to judge her choice to cut him out of her life. I'm sure she is too classy to even respond to Donald's remarks...

Blonde im not. He should be, but I am not some times we are better off without certain people in our lives. 35Imabeliever, I think she's the one between the two who's shown more respect. He's the one who constantly put the private on public display while she's kept mum and got on with her life. I can very much see him and The Comb-over being friends......I bet they have to use a "my turn to talk bull" chess clock when they get together.

when he left her mother for another women he abandoned her and her brother too..cut off all contact for quite some time. Everytime he did reach out to her it was to put her with him in front of the cameras. She reached out to him during the Lara Croft movies and got him the job as her father in the movie and that was the closest they had been for a long time. But that was also during her relationship with Billy Bob was spinning out of control.. All her focus was on BB.. and then she adopted Maddox and all of her focus turned to him. And BB not having his worshipping sex toy anymore lost interest and permanently went on tour with his band that year while she increased her charity work. Their marriage crumbled. Her father made all kinds of statements tearfully in the press that he had just learned of her cutting herself in her teens from an interview she did with a magazine and that she was mentally unstable and needed help or an intervention now as an adult(little late pops). He thought she was insane for going to Sierra Leone to visit the refugee camps and spilled the beans regarding her adoption of Maddox when she was trying to keep it out of the press for as long as possible. Not too mention other things which almost cost her Maddox. That's when she just said that she loves him but that he is a negative force in her life and that life is too short to constantly be battling him and the demons he creates. Since then he runs and cries to the media whenever he gets the chance and for someone who is desperate to be in her life he didn't know Zahara's name. So whatever. BAMZS do their best to protect their privacy.. I am not sure that she can afford to let someone into her life who has constantly proven that he cannot be discreet dependable or trusted and who seems only interested in bonding with Shiloh and not all of her children...
But then again this what I have pieced together over the years thru all of the stories on T.V. and print. Who knows what the absolute real deal is.

40I wouldn't write him off because he mangled an unusual name of a grandchild who he has never even met. My own grandma used to confuse everyone's name and run down the list, with our own name about third or fourth. So we all spent our childhood being referred to as, "Susie, I mean Betty, I mean, Meg, I mean Jane...". And she was pretty sharp overall, it was just this name thing.
Sometimes it is better to keep a relative at a distance, but who hasn't seen people cut off family and regret it later? Jennifer Anniston didn't talk to her mom for years and she wasn't even invited to the Brad-Jen wedding, but now they are close. Someday Tori Spelling will probably regret not having spent time with her dad when he was dying and she's still not talking to her mom.
41I would have thought as a parent that Angelina might have more understanding and compassion for her father's feelings and regrets. Maybe when her kids are older and she realizes that she may not be a perfect parent either, she will be a little more forgiving. It is possible to have some limited contact so he can at least meet his grandkids. Doesn't mean she has to ship the kids to grandpa's for sleepovers or Sunday dinners. It's just pretty cold to turn your back on a parent whose asking to have a relationship. I've seen quotes of her eluding that it has to do with his infidelity with her mother.
Angie has reinvented herself so many times she should have noticed that people do change and grow.

46Also Imabeliever, I remember reading an interview with her where she told the story of her father being nice to her and taking her to the airport when she was flying somewhere to film some scenes for a movie. He was all nice and sweet and gave her an envelope to open later and she assumed it was something good. When she openend the letter she found it contained all his negative opinions of her and how she was a disapointment to him etc. She said it messed her up and she couldn't believe he'd do that right then when she was on her way somewhere and yet that still wasn't her cutoff point for the guy cause remember she didn't do that until after she got Maddox. I have the feeling that Jon Voight has played with not only Angelina's head and heart all her life, but also with Angies brother and their mother too. I think he's as narcissistic as his friend the Donald. People should stop with the give him a break bull and realize that he is probably the main cause for the mental instability he accused her of! It's abuse at it's worst if you ask me. Does no one realize that the guy never has even suggested he did anything to contribute to the split?
47Ginger, I guess I'm not a big believer in all the lovey dovey fairytale family stuff even though I was blessed with a great one. I know many families who play the role but really are seriously messed up and unhappy but because of tradition etc they feel it their duty to remain in a sick situation because it looks better, or because the world says the child should always forgive the parent no matter if the parent is the one jacking things up always. That said, I know that just because someone shares your blood doesn't mean they are worthy of your presence and that it's sometimes healthier to maintain distance. I actually applaud Angelina Jolie for how she's handled things. She has said that she loves her dad but she also knows that they have a toxic relationship and that's something she apparently and wisely knows enough to not expose her children to it. JMHO

49I agree with him, my mother has been a friend of Jon Voight for a long time and he is an AMAZING person, you'd never meet a guy so charismatic and caring for even what other would think was the smallest person. He's mentioned how much therapy Angelina has been through; she masks her guilt in forms of outward empathy. Not saying what she's doing is wrong but she's clearly surrounding herself with things to distract her from her true demons and I'm sure it will all catch up with her soon. And harboring all that anger towards anyone is extremely unhealthy.
50The other comments are pure rubbish (on Paris, etc.) you can tell he's using a lot of this to get his name on people's lips.
