Lost is back in full swing in last night's second episode and as usual, we are more confused than ever. While we are totally sucked back in, evidently some of you don't agree because the ratings have dipped since the first two seasons. However, the show still has over 16 million viewers and is the top watched show in its time slot so I'm not too worried.

In last night's episode we finally got another story about Sun and Jin and learned more about their past. Specifically, that Sun isn't such a good girl after all. I mean we already knew she had had an affair, but we also saw a new side of her that can be very deceitful.
Plus, I was totally shocked when she shot one of the Others. That isn't the Sun we know (still I don't hold that against her, she didn't have a choice). Also, did anyone else notice that Jae was holding the pearl necklace that he gave Sun after he fell (or was pushed) out the window to his death? What does that mean?
I would continue to obsess over it but I have to move on to Sawyer and Kate. OK, he's had 69 days to kiss Kate and he chooses the time when they are on a chain gang and being threatened with electrocution to make his move? Oh, well, it was still a great kiss. And it also makes us realize how much Sawyer cares for her to risk his life like that. Of course, he made it seem like he was just kissing her as a strategic maneuver to learn more about the Others.
I really wanted Kate to get together with Jack, but we knew Kate and Sawyer were going to heat up at some point. As for poor Jack, well at least he knows who won the World Series now. The Boston Red Sox winning the World Series as a shocker never gets old. Well, I'm sure next week will be filled with more surprises. That's why I keep watching! And so should you!

I think Sawyer kissed Kate to get a read on the situation. After they returned to their cages, he analyzed who did and could do what. I just wish they (producers of show) would answer some questions or Kate, Jack and Sawyer would actually ask some.
1I agree. I think Sawyer kissed her to figure out what the Others were capable of. Not that he didn't want to kiss her, but I definitely don't think he was ONLY being passionate.
I think Jack and Juliet may end up together. I don't know how or why, it's just a gut feeling. Which is fine with me because I am so sick of the Sawyer/Kate/Jack triangle. Actually, I'm sick of KATE. I can't stand her. Evangeline Lilly is beautiful and talented but Kate is a crappy character.

A bit of trivia: the writer of this episode used to write for Buffy. When Sawyer said "You taste like strawberries," that line was taken from an episode of Buffy when someone said the same thing.

7That kiss was a great moment! I love the show, but now with all the new characters (the Others), and the time they're going to spend on them and their backstories, it's all starting to get so diluted.

They took Desmond's sailboat and found the decoy village in last season's finale.

12It wasn't their first kiss.. they had a few over the last two seasons..but it was still a good one none the less.
And they always show the same scence from different perspectives.. Jae might have thought that Jin's threatening statements meant that he knew about his affair with Sun and that she had been hurt because of them so he killed himself clutching her pearls.. or maybe Sun's father paid him a visit immead after Jin and finished the job he wanted Jin to do. We will find out in another flashback I am sure.
13Also I heard this morning that Neilsen ratings are now going to take into account Tivo and DVR'd shows and adjust the ratings accordingly. They said that that would drastically effect the ratings for shows like Lost and My Name is Earl.

i completely feel for the writers. they are under a lot of pressure to write "mind-blowing" episodes every week, when it just can't be that way. if every week was "mind-blowing" it would get old and predictable or extremely outrageous. i love this show! even the "boring" episodes b/c i know the slowness is setting the show up for something fantabulous!

22I love the show - but i'll tell you why the ratings dropped - the first 2 episodes of season three were severely disappointing. I was like, "I waited all summer for this?"

24Another thought - Can Jin speak and understand English. My guess is yes and it will come out this season.
25sashak..Jae was dating an American woman when he was set up with Sun on an arranged date by their parents..remember Jin(door man) opened the door of the hotel for her to meet Jae in the hotel's restaurant..that relationship didn't work out and he returned to his fathers hotel business. And that's when he became involved with Sun. I am wondering if the american woman was someone we know and will make yet another connection between all of the characters.
26Love Love Love this show and I really dont see what ppl are complaining about when they criticise it. I hate Jack's character, so whiny, so Im glad the Kate and Sawyer storyline is being explored. I also think jack will end up with Juliet, she reminds me of his ex-wife
27I love it also and am confused as to what people are complaining about. I think it's the best drama on tv. It doesn't insult the audience with predictable sappy storylines. It actually makes you think and gets you involved in the show. Also has countless other things outside of the show for you to get involved in. Practically every new show on tv copies it! Lost is FABULOUS!!!

29From this season's first episode you can assume that Ethan (who was shot to death by Charlie in season 1) was Julliet's husband. He looked like he was fixing something in the house while Julliette was having her book club meeting prior to the earthquake and I think I remember her calling him honey.
Some of you may not remember that in one of Sawyer's flashbacks in season 1 he was with Jack's dad at a bar and the father made a comment about the Red socks never winning a world series. Later on that day Jack made the same comment to Sawyer. Those scenes were shot prior to the Sox actually winning. The fact that the Sox actually did win a series really played well into the story.
I also think that Sun's baby can possibly be Jae's.
One thing that is so weird is how they have never addressed the fact that they have only been on the island for only 69 days and Walt looks so much older. 2 years older to be exact. They can't control Walt growing up during the 2 years that this show has been on the air. Did they ever address the fact that he is a 10 year old boy in a 13 year old's body? Maybe I missed something.
I stopped watching in season two.After the great season one, and the hatch clifhanger, we come back and get Desmond and the computer? WTF? disappointing, but I kept watching.Then we got the tailies, WHO I COULD NOT CARE LESS ABOUT, and much less of the ones we knew.Then the majorly annoying Ana Lucia(the thing is, I LIKE Michelle Rodiguez) If I was Sawyer, I would have beat the crap out of her after the fifth smack she delivered me! Roses' husband was way annoying also.Mr Ecko, a drug dealer who loves to pass judgement .If I was Charlie, I would have told him to piss off.I got so fed up watching the talies and then the reruns, that I did not know or care when it returned. PS-they turned Locke into a whoose again!
