Sarah Jessica Parker graces the September issue of British Elle in an eye catching, very, very yellow dress. It's still hard for us to separate SJP with our beloved Carrie from SatC but even if the movie does get made, it's probably high time for us to realize that these two fabulous ladies are not necessarily one in the same. In the issue, SJP reveals that she hates Cosmopolitans and would be glad to hang up her stilettos. Here's more:
- On wearing heels: "I used to spend 18 to 20 hours a day filming in heels. Now I spend a much shorter day in them and I'm, like, 'Owww!' I've really destroyed my body by running and dancing in heels. My knees are shot."
- On drinking: I've had many Cosmopolitans sent across when I'm in bars, but I always think, 'God, if I can get this in a bottle, I could clean so much stuff at home.' "
We'll always be happy to have SJP as a stand-in for Carrie Bradshaw. Especially now that her new fragrance, Covet, is finally here!

2Here is my thing with SJP. Loved her in Sex and the City and The Family Stone and continue to think she's one of classiest ladies around in Hollywood. But I personally don't think that she, herself, is the FASHION ICON; I think her SATC character Carrie Bradshaw IS the fashion icon. I think to be considered a fashion icon you, first and foremost, have to live up to the name even in your casual days onscreen/off screen and sometimes I think SJP doesn't. She also has said that she doesn't think she's that stylish as Carrie is. Somehow I wouldn't think Audrey Hepburn would have that if someone asked her if she thinks she's as stylish as Holly Golightly. Audrey probably knew and believed that she was fashionable in every sense of the word with not help from stylists. And I think that's what separates a fashion icon from one who isn't.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

5i just love her i like her style as SJP I loathed it as Carrie. But I love how almost normal she sounds like she could be you and me and not a woman ho was in one of the most famous shows of all time.

Cinn, sorry i know it was a long rant, but the more I read interviews of SJP (which I do, I even purchase the magazine when she's on the cover) I finally can to THAT realization. It was a sad revelation to me.

17SJP is a fashionista when rocking the red carpet and going out to events. She almost always looks good and knows how to carry it off. She's got a good classic style that sometimes delves into eclectic. I don't need my celebrities dressed to the nines to run errands.
I only liked what Carrie wore so I could yell WTF at the TV.
18I agree with you lilsugar. I like her style more than Carrie's. I remember the ep when she lost Aidan's dog and that outfit she wore, stiletto pumps, 80s runners shorts and a skimpy top!!!!!!!!!! What was that?!

27I like her style and Carrie's style. They are different but I like them both. I don't think we have any fashion icons right now, mainly because we have so many paparazzi catching folks in the grocery store and on the way to the gym and whatnot so people are always caught looking like you and me.
28That is one unflattering cover shot. And quite honestly, I would never go out in some of Carrie's outfits, so yay for SJP for wanting to stick to her own fashion standards.

Did they have to photoshop the heck out of her? She looks terrible and the dress is so photoshopped that it looks like it was painted on her. If they were going to paint it, who got the bright idea to paint it that hideous yello? I can't imagine that she's happy with this cover.
