Adorable little Isabella Damon is chillaxin' in her stroller in NYC with her family there to push her along. Matt has been busy dividing his time lately between daddy duty and promoting The Bourne Ultimatum which opens on Friday. We love seeing him as a hot action hero, but now that he has little ones at home, he's been taking them into consideration for upcoming roles. Here's more:
"Those are the kinds of things where I say, `Well, do I want my daughter exposed, knowing that her dad makes movies like this or that?'" Damon said.
"There are so many movies that drive my mom just totally crazy, because there are these thousands of acts of violence. The movies are rated PG-13, but the toys are marketed to ages 4 and up. So you get these kids who are just getting pounded by this imagery from a very young age. I don't want to be a part of that."
We hope this isn't the end of the Bourne franchise because we love watching Matt as an action hero on the big screen but we can respect that he is choosing his roles more carefully these days. As you know we have been counting down to Bourne opening this weekend but it turns out there are a ton of other movies in theaters this weekend as well. Everytime I read something about him, he's always referred to as "hot". He is not in the least, hot. Cute, maybe. But hot? No way. Maybe that's just my opinion but there are way hotter guys compared to him.

18That's an awesome thing to think about. I completely agree with his mom.
19My four year old is obsessed with Spiderman because he's on all of the clothes in the kiddie sections, the fruit snacks, the yogurt, the backpacks, etc. and we've never even seen a Spiderman movie! It's hard to shelter them from things that are completely inappropriate for them when the movie people splash these images on things for children.

21I totally agree with him. I don't think there is anything wrong with violent movies that are rated R and don't have any kiddie promotions along with them. But there are a LOT of movies that are rated for one age of audience, and market to a younger audience. And don't even get me started on my peeve with parents that bring their children into inappropriate movies. When I saw Scream, there was a 2 year old that starting screaming like crazy when Drew Barrymore gets attacked. I felt awful for him!
canthelpwatching -- good for you for taking an active role in deciding what movies are appropriate for your youngster. Most people assume that since a movie has kiddie promotions, it must be okay for children, and they ignore the movie rating.

25you would be a little solemn too if some big scary guy was always sticking a camera in your face. im really not surprised that matt chose someone completely normal to settle down with, he always a little more down to earth than his peers. why oh why couldnt have been me?
26It's Matt's personality that makes him attractive. Don't get me wrong, he's not ugly, far from it. However, his wit and folksy demeanor are more endearing than his looks. He looks similar to many of my comtemporaries in college. He kind of has that boy next door thing going for him, and he appears very sincere in all of the interviews that I've seen. He also happens to be a great actor. Here's to many more movies in the future starring Matt Damon. Woo hoo!
