I CANNONT BELIEVE LANE GARRISON GOT ONLY 90 DAYS! He killed a kid while driving drunk, and he gets 90 days! My friend in PA had 2 DUI's, and on #2, he got 90 days in jail! What is wrong with CA's judicial system? How can a same judge not give him at least 2 years? I am very appalled at that ruling. Something needs to happen in CA, they let celebs litterally get away with murder!

Agent D - I agree, living in LA, it's amazing to see how celebs get treated in all aspects including the judicial system. I bet you these judges are "fans" and therefore don't give anything close to the max sentence. I don't care if Lane is sorry - he killed a kid & that to me is disgusting. Just driving by the site where it happened gives me goose bumps. I'm wondering what the kid's family thinks.

Apparently the max sentence for Lane could have been 4 years...he should have at least been sentenced to 2! Disgusting...

I think he got off easy because the prison's out here are just over crowded. Injustice like this happens every day, and not just because people are celebrities. (I don't even consider that guy a celeb though...he's just an actor.)

The reason the CA legal system is so screwed up is because of over crowding. The 3 strikes law took the "judgement" part out of the judicial system with blanket sentances for people who don't need it.

Um, I'm really confused! I know nothing about any of those young Disney stars so when the Hairspray premiere pics were posted and people were mentioning "Zanessa" I kind of assumed that Zac and Vanessa were together in real life. Is that not the case?

Cause I took my goddaughter to see Hairspray last weekend and when we were queuing for the tickets I was b*tching about Zac Efron and what a TRAVESTY it is that he's gonna be in a Footloose remake (I know, she must have an absolute blast with me! ), and how he wears more make-up than Marilyn Manson and something about him and Vanessa and she nearly collapsed when I told her "Oh yeah, they go out in real life, didn't you know that??". Am I gonna look like a total geek now?

The vehicular manslaughter sentencing guidelines are pretty broad, meaning he could have gotten off with probation and no time, or he could have done the max, given the extra charges I would think he'll get more, but if you read the article he is merely being remanded for 90 days to be evaluated, after the 90 days he can still (and will likely) recieve his sentence, the 90 days is an evaluation period. Given that he was drunk and on drugs, he should get more than 90 days (IMO).

On the article about Katie & Posh and their tipping... not to play the part of devils advocate, but tipping began as an incentive for good service and because restaurants have a different wage rate in most states. (i.e. where the federal minimum wage is 7.15 or so, the restuarant minimum wage in most states is just over 3 dollars roughly estimated). So, California waiters/waitresses make out like bandits in comparison because their rate is the same as the federal minimum wage, meaning no separate restaurant wage rate. Also, when I was traveling around Europe and parts of the UK, it was unusual to tip as much as people in the US do, it's just not done as often. So maybe Posh didn't know?

That aside she should know better and should have tipped something... tipping nothing is harsh on this side of the ocean, plus the service industry sucks to work in!

I can't believe that sentence. What a warning to be giving out when drunk driving seems to be so rampant in Hollywood. Carefull kids, you might kill someone, ad if you do you might have to go to jail for two whole months! (I'm assuming he won't serve the full sentence, just to rub salt in the wound of the victim's family)

Princis, I think tipping of 10% is common in most European countries. Certainly in Ireland, where the minimum wage is quite high, all waiting staff would be on at least minimum wage, if not more, but unless the service absolutely sucked most people would leave ten per cent on a bill where there's no service charge included.

I've only been to the US a few times, certainly no where near as frequently as Posh, but I would know to tip at least 15% over there. I don't believe she didn't know, and in any case Katie payed the bill and she's American. No sadly I think this is a classic case of stinginess... how do you think these people get to have so much money? They don't like to part with it too easily. I'm glad it becomes public knowledge when celebs demonstrate this kind of mean spirited behaviour.

Kiki - hmm, I'm going to have to smack my friend from London who told me that Americans are crazy for the way we tip... maybe I got confused and service charges are already built in? either way I tip 15 percent at the least, after being a cocktail waitress I couldn't imagine doing anything less than that even when the service sucks.

Like, i wouldn't tip taxi drivers or anything like that, but yeah, I guess it varies from place to place. But certainly if a normal broke pleb like me can give 10% or some loose change then Posh and Katie can at least throw down a twenty just out of common courtesy.

FYI in regards to the Lane Garrison situation. 90 days isn't his sentence...at least not yet. He is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation to determine his sentence and to see if probation is an option.

Totally non-important, but I dont think Jessica Alba was braless. They had pictures of her on some other site yesterday in the same outfit, and you could see the underwire. I think it was just a thin bra.

This Heidi chick might be desperate for attention but what does that say about the paps and people that post her pics and non-newsworthy stories? I think the majority want her to just go away but she won't if people keep taking her pics...blech.

And Adam Sandler was filming in front of my building on Park Ave for the past three days. And I got to witness him with his daughter in person. It was quite adorable. Every moment he wasn't filming or reviewing a take he was with her and his wife. My friend later got a picture with him and said he was the nicest guy.

Heidi and Spencer need to go away!!! I am so sick of seeing them. They are gross. Personally, I think she was prettier before the nose and boob job.

But I am excited for the new season of The Hills!!
