Ellen DeGeneres to Replace Paula Abdul as American Idol's Fourth Judge! Those of us holding out for Paula Abdul to return to American Idol this season, you can stop holding your breath: Ellen DeGeneres is taking Paula's spot as the fourth judge! Ellen just posted the news on her Twitter, and Fox has confirmed the deal.

All I can say is, wow! Love Ellen but will miss Paula and her craziness.
1this is by far the biggiest dumb thing american idol has ever done. paula brings this wild, sweet, emotional chemistry to american idol and it's been both amusing and horrifying watching them try to "replace" her. then when they picked ellen i was like, "OF COURSE!" they couldn't find anyone to replace her truly so they decided in utter desperation to go the ratings route. so they chose ellen. no offense to ellen, she's so cute and funny and who doesn't love her cute little dsnces on her show, but let's face it. there's something really self-serving (or idol-serving...or fox television-serving) on idol's part by choosing ellen of all people. ratings ratings ratings. in the end that's what it's all about. has nothing to do with the singings who are pouring their hearts (and vocal chords) out!
2yikes! this is one of those bad moves that is slow and painful to watch. first the four judges (ewwwwww), then paula left (noooooooooooo!) now ellen comes in out of no where (huh?). is anyone else shivering with fear and sadness besides me? i miss the good ol' days of "if it ain't broke don't fix it"
