The big news broke last night that Ellen DeGeneres will be replacing Paula Abdul as the fourth judge on American Idol! The talk show host apparently signed a five year contract, but check out what she had to say to Simon Cowell earlier this year about the four-judge system. This show has gone downhill, it's more about the judges and the host, than it is about the singers. That's the reason I no longer watch it. I don't think Ellen will improve the show, but she might boost their viewership ratings; at least in the short run.
3i don't think that AI is more about the judges than the singer, i just think the show is has different pieces - the singers, the judges, the auditions, etc. and as far as the judges piece goes, the show stinks without paula, i don't care who they bring in. if it ain't paula i'm not for it.
4ellen should be more worried about fox television using her for ratings than about too much talking. she can talk all she wants cuz she's funny all the time, she's never not funny. but they are so using her for her ratings and audience, not her extensive musical knowledge. they need to stop screwing around and just beg paula abdul to come back.
