He is and continues to be abusive. That's why the nanny is there to supervise. He wants to see his kids without the nanny, and that's why he's re-filing a custody suit.

She really does have her hands full with the kids and buying a house while selling 2. And she'll do anything to keep her kids happy. Which is nice to see in this age of neglect.

In my experience, unless the custodial parent is very well-rounded and harbors no resentment towards the non-custodial parent, the use of their children as pawns happens CONSTANTLY. In celeb and non-celeb worlds alike.

Of course AJ did that with BP. I consider her scum too for breaking (or helping to) up Hollywoods golden couple. Jen & Brad would have worked out the baby issues had he not strayed...

About Denise & Charlie - he gambled, who knows what else (girls, drugs). Why was he out in the 1st place? Maybe he didn't make the right choice w/ Denise and was unhappy. She seems like a gold digger. I was pretty surprised she didn't get knocked up by Richie.

Guess time will tell with what Charlie does when he marries his new GF.

I'm sorry, but if my children were in the "custody" of a recent addict over the weekend, I would make sure that at least one responsible adult was there too. And his new girlfriend doesnt count. So I completely understand her demand about the nanny.
But, I wouldn't have procreated with Charlie Sheen considering all of his well documented issues. She could have saved herself the nightmare by not having kids with him in the first place. The kids are now suffering because she wanted to marry and breed with a big celebrity.
And I do think it's incredibly immature for him to be leaking that information to the media. Why not have some respect for your kids? It bugs me. He needs to act more mature.

And I don't know if she's using the kids as pawns as much as she's just obsessed with them. She has no relationship, no real job, etc. All she has is those girls. So maybe she's just really really really obsessed with their well-being and takes it too far sometimes. She spends tons of time with them and I think that's really nice.
I don't think we can say that she's a "bad mom" just because she's all freaky about the custody. I would be too if Charlie Sheen was the father.
