The reason Mel wanted Eddie was because he apparently has a very good side, especially with his children from his marriage. According to the interview she gave Essence, Eddie home school's his kids. When he saw that Mel's daughter was behind in her learning/studies Eddie had her bring her daughter to his house for home schooling with his kids until she caught up.

I don't think Mel has ever had anyone do the things for her that Eddie did. That's why she still loves him. (Of course things got ugly when they broke up).

These comments painting Eddie to be a bad guy are off base.

She's stupid for canceling an appearance on Larry King Live. It would have been great publicity for her and the Spice Girls.

It will be interesting to see how the rest of this plays out. Mel may have bitten off more than she can chew.

Eddie is an 'A' List star who does studio movies. These studios spend a lot of money on projects with him. He is currently or has just finished filming something. As I understand it, Mel has just been accepted to be on Dancing with the Stars.

What Mel is trying to do has turned into slander against Eddie. Anyone will feel sorry for a woman and her baby especially is there is a rich high profile father involved. That is the pictured Mel has painted.

Lets talk dollars and cents here.

The studios have millions of dollars riding on Eddie. Do you think the powers that be in Hollywood are going to let her continue on this path and ruin their investment if they can stop her? It would not surprise me if they told her to zip her lips if she wanted to keep her spot on that dancing show.

Maybe that is why she cancelled. Who knows. Maybe she will still do the interview. As far as I know, no one was giving her the time of day until she hooked up with Eddie.

The type of publicity that is going on in this case is not good. It made her look suspect from the beginning because she is making her case so public and has continued to do so.

well to be totally fair, she siad she was pregnant, said who the father was, and Eddie denied it in public on that tv broadcast. I don't think anything she particularly said was slanderous. She just said he wasn't recognizing that he got her pregnant and she knew he was the father.

A lot of her things have become public because they were filed in court, i.e. the paternity request and the request for recognition of the father. She doesn't have much control over a clerk who calls it in to the tabloids... (which happens all the time).

But she does have Gloria Allred representing her... who LOVES to bring in the media.
