Late in Thursday night's LA Galaxy game at rainy RFK stadium in DC, David Beckham took the field. Shortly afterwards, he was topless. Hel-loooo wet, shirtless Becks! By all accounts David played well coming in at the 72nd minute of the match, but unfortunately the Galaxy still lost the game 1-0. Afterwards Becks had this to say, "It's difficult after eight weeks of hardly doing anything. But I'm happy to be back on the field, disappointed to be losing, but we'll have to look forward to the next game." Not everyone is disappointed, however, because rumor has it that Nike is eager to lure Becks as a spokesperson when his contract with Adidas runs out in 2008. David's biggest cheerleaders, Victoria & the boys, weren't in the stands for the game, but there will be much more soccer Becks to come. Yay for that.

26I have been a huge soccer fan since birth and have followed David's career for years. I went to last night's match and it was amazing. The atmosphere was electric and the fans sang throughout the entire match. I haven't been to a sporting even like it since the World Cup. I love Becks and I think he is going to do great things for soccer in America.

31It was lots of fun to be there in person. Becks even from however far away we were is delicious. We sat behind the player benches so he did his stretch routine in front of us - what a sight!!!!
