Jennifer Aniston may be getting ready to make NY her home, but the west coast will keep bringing her back. Next up on Jen's schedule is showing off her directorial debut short film, Room 10, at the 2007 Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films & Short Film Market, which starts on August 23rd.
Jennifer made Room 10, which stars Robin Wright Penn and Kris Kristofferson, a while ago as a project for Glamour Magazine, and she's clearly still getting mileage out of showing it off. Plus we can't blame her for wanting to take advantage of a few days in relaxing Palm Springs. We love watching Jennifer on-screen and we're willing to bet she shines even behind the camera.

1I've always liked her. It would be cool to see her act in some indie flicks. I loved The Good Girl.

ya look great Jen!
8I must say, Room 10 is not too exciting. I thought I'd like it because I'm usually quite into that kind of stuff, but I didn't find this short to be very special.
And she co-directed the movie, by the way. Gotta give some credit to her friend and co-director Andrea Buchanan.
9she's so... orange...
10I want to know more about this movie.
11Go Jen! The movie sounds pretty interesting.
12What do you mean "getting mileage". Room 10 is in the short film circuit to qualify for Oscar consideration. You make it sound as if she is "milking" it. That's a lousy way to report it. Shame on you again.
13I don't like her...she even isn't a serious actress.
14YAY Jen ! love the hair
15would love to see this film, I am sure Jen did a fantastic job at directing it:)

27Aniston to show directing skills
Aniston played Rachel Green in the US hit show Friends
Actress Jennifer Aniston is to showcase her directorial debut at a California short film festival later this month, says trade paper Hollywood Reporter.
The Friends star has directed romantic drama Room 10, which stars Robin Wright Penn and Kris Kristofferson.
Bryce Dallas Howard - recently seen in Spider-Man 3 - will also screen a film she directed, called Orchids.
The 2007 Palm Springs Festival of Short Films festival opens on 23 August and plays host to more than 350 films.
Other familiar names who will appear in some of the shorts on display include James Gandolfini in Club Soda and Patrick Stewart and Joanna Lumley in The Audition.
Room 10 is set in the emergency room of a hospital, and focuses on the true story of a nurse who discovers deeper meaning in her life after treating a dying patient.
It was co-directed by Aniston and her friend Andrea Buchanan, who was also the screenwriter.
The pair previously won a jury prize for the drama at the Cinevegas Film Festival in Las Vegas.
World premieres
The Palm Springs festival, also known as Shortfest, will showcase 54 world premieres across its six-day run.
A panel of judges will hand out awards in nine categories, with two additional prizes also on offer.
The Alexis award is named in honour of Alexis Echavarria, a 16-year-old film student who died suddenly upon returning from volunteer work in Thailand just as the festival had accepted his film two years ago.
Participants will also compete to win the Hi Five to Lo Fi award for best low-budget short film.
That prize will be presented by director Jason Reitman's production company Hard C Productions.
The full line-up for the festival is due to be announced on 15 August.
28yay!! love her
29I've seen it- she and Andrea deserved their win In Vegas for Best Short. If you guys get a chance to see it-go-you will not be disappointed.Kris and Robin are awesome in it.A very loving story.Kudos to the both of them.Loved the BBC article-it was vert fair and mentioned all of them. Not biased in any way or form!!!
30Jennifer, you are really talented and I'm so happy you keep moving onwards in your life!
31Im a fan, I don't know what the film is about either, but will check it out if I get the chance...she always looks great/
32Wao! How sweet and fantastic threads reserved to Aniston are! This is something I've noticed and now I've realised how respectful Angelina Jolie fans can be on Pop Sugar. You won't see them on here calling names. If it was the other way around, the AJ threads would be partly filed with Aniston fans, analyzing every angle of her pics to find anything negative to say about her and worse, calling her names and saying the most unbelievable things about her and /or her children. This is very interesting...
33she is so sweet
34I like Jen a lot, she was great in Friends but whoa she's so orange in this picture.
35I live in Palm Springs!
36I'm a great fan of anyone trying to do something a bit different and take risk. I love the sound of this movie and I sure hope the gals will win an award for this short! I can not wait for the goree girls to start filming either. I want it to beat ocean13! Man apart from charlie's angles I don't see any female blockbuster movies. I'm rooting for jen to get all casting right. I would to see goldie hawn in it with other good comedians.
In response to someone saying jen is not a serious actress. Well comedy don't get the oscar. Comedy gets money from the box office but the oscar, forget it. It doesn't mean comedians are not serious actors. Jim carey, aniston, goldie hawn, will farrel, borat, vince and the rest are brillant actors!
37Try asking meryl streep to do comedy...she doesn't do it well. She did one with hawn and it wasn't very good. Nicole in stepford wives..ring the bell people? Nicole doesn't do comedy well either. Diaz or drew in that film would have worked better in my opinion.
38Good for her!!! I love Jen and I wish her much suscess with this project!!!
39Lasiesta you clearly haven't been here long enough lol.
40I'm happy for her success.
41*yawn*
42i wonder if the palms will make their 'room 10' themed for jen (like they do for EVERYONE including hugh and the girls)
43no kidding nya wait till the brangeloonatics come they come with a force, ha ha
44one of the brangelina fans has already said something fishy in this thread. We all know who that is. But it doesn't matter jen has tons of fan as we see here..lol
45I don't see anything fishy on here. All I've seen is someone saying she doesn't like Aniston that's all. I know I haven't been here long but before I used to lurk. So I know what I'm talking about. Look, 46 post away and hardly any name calling toward Ms Aniston or deragotary or racists terms used aginst her kids. It would have been a different story with Angelina jolie.
46It's funny that you call her fans ''loonatics'' but reading what some of you say on her threads, I just wonder who are the real 'loonies.'
Oh I've forgotten others mentioning the colour of her skin... oh well that ain't bad. The thread is mostly ''brangeloonatics'' free.
47against* Argh typos. Oh, on my second post, I didn't mean Aniston got kids, I just phrased it wrong. Anyway I hope you've got my point. Lol.
48This is what the Providence Film Festival had to say-it played there the other night. This guy -a reviewer really liked it.
Aniston’s Room 10, co-directed with Andrea Buchanan from Buchanan’s script, is a powerfully emotional piece starring Robin Wright Penn and Kris Kristofferson. I dare anyone who has ever been in love to watch Aniston’s 19-minute film and not come away with a tear in the eye.
Penn plays Frannie Jones, a harried nurse at a big-city hospital who is having problems in her marriage. In the middle of running around the ward to look in on patients, arguing with the staff and trying to keep a suicidal woman under control, Frannie checks in on a new patient in Room 10, an old woman who has a very short time left to live. When she looks in on the woman a short time later, the woman’s husband of 45 years (Kristofferson) is sitting by her side, holding her hand, trying to ease the woman’s way on her final journey.
What follows is a lovely exchange between Penn and Kristofferson as he lays out the life he has shared with this fragile dying woman, including many of the bad times that accompanied the good. “Sometimes you just get tired of being married,” he says wearily, something which touches a nerve in Frannie at that moment. And yet the love and tenderness he feels is made very real by Kristofferson’s lovely, open performance.
His story moves Frannie to reassess her own life and marriage and it may do likewise with members of the audience. It’s a solid piece of filmmaking and Aniston should be proud, as should her actors, who give natural performances.
49I, for one, do not believe she is moving to New York.
